Bert Williams, England's goalkeeper back in best form, running out to pick up an easy ball, and clears up-field. LV. Wolves attacking. CU. Man in the audience. SV. Leslie Smith on left wing cutting in with ball. Back to Swinbourne. He shoots and Kelsey tips over bar. SV. Crowd. SV. Swinbourne running in. Kelsey flings himself out of goal to parry Swinbourne's shot. Wally Barnes runs up to collect and set Arsenal away. SV. Milton running with ball. Lawton leaps high for typical Lawton effort, heads but Williams matches effort with superb punch over bar. GV. Crowd releasing balloons at half time. Score 0-0. SV. Pan. Combined Arsenal move works ball up-field. Holton and Lishman. Lishman's pass is intercepted and Wolves get under way from a through pass. SV. Swinbourne running through, shoots, but Kelsey falls on it to save, and clears up-field. SV. Arsenal attack is stopped when Billy Wright concedes a corner. SV. Crowd. SV. Milton taking corner. Williams leaps high to collect. Tapscott rushes in and charges him. Wolves defence take dim view. Referee walks over to have a quiet word with them. SV. Lineman watching. SCU. Tommy Lawton passing ball inside to Holton. Lawton now on peak form. SV. Quick tackling by Wolves breaks up Arsenal move. Ball to Smith. LV. Smith centres and Dennis Wilshaw hits it first time. Kelsey beaten but Evans heads out from under bar and Kelsey congratulates Evans. CU. Man in crowd. LV. Leslie Smith taking corner. Roy Swinbourne rushes in and heads a terrific shot to score. SV. Pan, Wolves player congratulate.

I enjoy these old videos. From a different world.

What I notice about these old games is there is no messing about. The ball is moved forward very quickly and when the ball is lost the other team do the same.
