  • Making the Most of the Conditions: Cold and Windy Fishing on a Jetski
    #jetskifishing #fishing #goldcoastfishing
    With limited chances to go jetski fishing due to the weather and work, I managed to get out last weekend in some marginal and very cool conditions in search of Snapper. This video will give you some idea of how you good a jetski is as a fishing platform, no matter the conditions!
    It was a very tough day of fishing in windy offshore conditions. I caught a lot of Grinners, had a shark take one of my better fish, and there was also a lot of undersize snapper caught. The video is just the better parts of my day!
    I ride a Yamaha FXHO Waverunner, and use a variety of Shimano and other brand rods and reels.

    Gee mate that king fish didn’t fight at all?? He must have been mushy 😂

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  Před 25 dny +1

      Yeah at first he didn’t but built up a bit. I cut a few minutes out as it gets a bit tedious watching someone crank a fish in! The little Ocea jigger also is silent so you couldn’t hear the line being ripped off now and again. He had a good fight but for one that big was definitely a little low key!

    Bloody cold out there at the moment and bit of a swell. Some nice snapper is always worth it though.

      Yes, can't wait to get some more days out on the water soon Matty. The big snapper are starting to come in plus there are some big Spanish still around too!

    How much of a diffrence in stability does adding the tubbies provide? Is it a big diffrence in stability and comfort compared to stock?

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  Před 14 dny

      Hi Matthew, you go from a ski that can be a little tippy in swell and more so when loaded up with lots of gear and bags of ice, to something that is almost impossible to invert. The other benefits are storage of course, but also leg /body protection from the more toothy species that you catch -or the ones that come up and try to take your catch! The cutting board, live bait tank, rescue/storage bottle, and of course the space room to take anything you want make them very worthwhile. They really do turn your jetski into a very serious offshore fishing machine. Thanks for watching, hope you come back for more.

    Hey mate great video just a question what editing software do you use? thanks

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  Před 25 dny +1

      I use Blackmagic Resolve. However to get the quality of production it's a combination of camera settings, good audio recording (very difficult on windy days), colour grading (an art in itself), and storytelling I guess. I must admit it's hard to get the storytelling good when its all unscripted and the fish don't always play ball! I have been thinking about doing a video on how I produce these one day, so stay tuned! :) Just need to find some time.....

    Need heated footwear and gloves at this time of year. Great footage 👍🏻

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  Před 25 dny +1

      thanks again! The water temp is fine (still around 23 degrees C) but it's the wind chill factor after a 8 degrees start. It was 15 knot Westerly winds blowing so that's enough to freeze the balls on the Brass Monkey! Sharkskin socks seem to keep my feet warm enough. I think I just need another layer under the Jetpilot Tourcoat!
