I love how Paloma is the answer after almost a decade of girl boss movies, where women in leading roles of spy movies and superhero movies are portrayed with lots of masculine features. She is feminine, she is fun, she is cute and yet she still has all the skills a good spy has to have. A well written character of our Zeitgeist telling girls: you can be a feminine woman and still have all the skills needed for a seemingly "masculine" job.

That line of "I've had 3 weeks training" while in character is a wonderful 'meta' reference to the actress's real life 3 weeks of training for the action for the role!!
Edit: Bravo to either actress Ana de Armas or writer Phoebe Waller Bridge for coming up with the line, and to both for brilliantly realising the character in such a way that her relatively tiny amount of screen time is dwarfed by her on screen presence in the film 👏👏
(I've heard of conflicting reports of whether or not the line was already in the script or added by the actress herself. Either way there were reportedly plenty of small script edits being made during production).

Some very clever changes in these recent Bond films to reflect the changing times and attitudes: instead of having a “Bond girl” who was just eye candy: a sex symbol and damsel in distress, here we have a woman with wit, personality, and fighting skill. No damsel in distress she. Fantastic. And even better, she was the comic relief! She knocked her part out of the park. Brilliant!

I hate to break it to ya. But you just proved that you haven't watched all of the Bond films. They were more than just eye candy but in the late 80s to 90s you would see that the female characters were already on that level long before the Graig Era. Paloma should've been the main lead and not the other one.
