    I rented the P365, Hellcat, Shield Plus, and P365 XL yesterday. I put 20 rounds through all guns. I liked the Shield Plus way more than the rest. I shot it much better too. The next best one was the XL, followed very far behind by the hell cat, and then further down the line, the p365. The p365 and hellcat were too small for my hands. I had to readjust after every shot, but the hellcat did feel better overall. The XL felt like it had more recoil than the shield plus to me. I shot the XL and Shield well, but did much better with the Shield plus. I'm sure some of that is due to the trigger. The Shield plus trigger is in a completely different league than the rest of them. After all that, I plan on purchasing the Shield plus.

    I don’t understand all the comments about how “ snappy “ the Hellcat is ,I tried the P 365 and the Hellcat multiple times before Purchasing the Springfield. And to me the recoil impulse difference was negligible. We are talking about 3” barrels that come in under 20 ounces. Felt recoil and diminished accuracy is a given shooting any small handgun. The Springfield makes some of the best quality firearms for the price point, super reliable, better materials used and as a Company they have by far the best customer service of any manufacturer I have personally dealt with. But the biggest advantage of the Hellcat over the Sig is that you have to actually pull the trigger to fire a Hellcat

      @@seth3000gt Nice. I think I might've heard about the Kel-TEC but didn't realize the dimensions of how small it is. With that pistol coming out in the 90s, you would think that Glock would've made something similar, but no, they made the Glock 26. Then they realized it was too fat so they made the Glock 43 not too long ago. Except the 43 only holds six rounds like most of the relatively newer micro-compacts (e.g. Shield, XDS, LC9, etc). I understand that you might have had horrible customer service experience. That is the risk we take in purchasing any service. Good and fair review I’m thinking. I own the P365XL and the P365SAS and I have the 10, 12, and 15 round magazines. I’m a new shooter and purchased Sig Sauer first and I like Sig products - I also own the P238 .380, and the P938 Legion as well as the P320 Compact.
      Having said that I also own the M&P 2.0 .40 caliber and I like it as well and the Springfield XDE .45ACP so as I’ve learned more I’ve developed an appreciation for other guns although I still often favor one or another.
      Nevertheless, in my view after virtually all guns today are decent and have good features including revolvers I also own a Kimber K6S 2” 357/38 special revolver.
      Although I don’t own and haven’t shot all the guns you reviewed I think you covered the features well and balanced …the rest is a matter of personal preference.
      I do think if I were purchasing my first pistol today I would pick up he Shield +. I have handled all the guns you record and I agree. Also I shot a Hellcat at the range several times, about 50 rounds and I agree it’s not for me. Right now my EDC is the P365SAS as the P365XL is my wife’s pistol.
      I’m trying to transition to the Springfield XDE because I like 45ACP but it’s 23+ oz vs 17 with the P365SAS. I’m finding that’s a lot more weight.
      Great review you seldom see anyone that looks at everything and doesn’t especially bash something over another. At the end of the day I think we are all fan boys to our own flavor of the day. 😊

I also got a half dozen 7 round mags for it, I will probably never buy one of those polymer micro 10/11 rd 9mms I’m pretty sure I won’t shoot them well, I’ve handled the P365, Hellcat in the past. I like the P938 alloy frame, I like the Saftey cause I carry it AIWB pointed at my junk, I shoot it great, great grip, If you need more than 8 rds in a civilian application you’re probably fuct to begin with! Sometimes I carry a LCP2 or G42 in my front pocket as a back up (cause I’m not a reloading tactical geek) in the winter it’s my LCR in 327 federal magnum as backup or sometimes even primary carry winter coat pocket carry(no holster 😁). Loved the P938 for like 7 years now! 👍🏻 I’ve got this weird thing about micro sized 9mm guns (well almost any caliber really) they shouldn’t be double stack mags, only single stack, they don’t feel like they’ll be reliable. I'll be buying a compact 9mm for CC some time soon. Magazine capacity is high on my list of necessities as well as other things so after some research I've narrowed it down to these choices:
    * Beretta APX A1
    * H&K P30SK
    * H&K VP9SK
    * Kimber R7 Mako
    * Ruger Max 9
    * SIG P320 X-Compact
    * SIG P365
    * Smith & Wesson M&P Shield
    * Smith & Wesson S&K 2.0
    * Springfield Hellcat
    * Taurus G3c
    * Walther PPQ SC
    Some others that I might consider are:
    * Beretta APX Centurion
    * CZ P07

    You may have noticed that a Glock was not in my lists. Glock makes a reliable firearm but the thing that I dislike about them is that there's no external safety and I would not feel comfortable carrying one. It's just something that I feel strongly about so please no hate. 0:-)

    When evaluating guns people should take into consideration grip circumference and trigger reach. The distance from grip rear centerline to trigger face centerline. Also slide retraction weight. The force necessary to cycle the slide. This is helpful for female, older and disabled shooters. A magazine named Gun Tests grades guns and those measurements are included in their evaluations. That 10+1 P365 is now 12+1 with a MagGuts extender upgrade. What's amazing is that the length of the mag only increases by a barely noticeable 1/8" (since it uses a shorter flat metal spring to replace the longer OEM coiled spring). The same type of upgrade will make the 12+1 P365 (with OEM extended mag, perfect for larger hands not having their pinkies hanging out there) into an amazing 14+1, again with a barely noticeable MagGuts extender. With these extenders, the P365 outguns all other 9mm micro compacts. And yes, like the Hellcat, there's a 15+1 OEM mag for the P365 (I have 1), but for me it's too damn long, especially in comparison to the 12 round mag upgraded to a 14. I pocket carry, and the 15+1 configuration is a non-starter. The 14+1, on the other hand, is perfect.

    I own both the Hellcat and GX4. They both offer a lot of extras you don't find in some of the other brands of the same size and they shoot pretty much the same out to 10 yards. Not at all disappointed in the reliability of either and the quality is there. The only thing i wish Taurus had done is put better sights on the GX4. They did the same thing with the G3,s but putting nite sights on them improved the sight picture and accuracy. The Hellcat cost $599.00 and the GX4 $399.00. So you can see that there is a big difference in cost but i think that the GX4 will go up in price maybe not to much where the Hellcat is pretty much topped out at $599.00. I love both of them and trust both to use at EDC guns along with my Sig P938. We won't talk about price there but you really do get your moneys worth with the Sig but you give up capacity with it unless you want to carry an extra mag. These 3 guns are all number one picks for carry in my opinion. 10 years of on duty carry and 40 years of concealed carry, so I've tried it all.

I can’t even get a good grip to get a good draw every time. The draw is bad on smaller guns which makes me want a larger gun but the printing is worse. So I’m kinda stuck lol. I picked up a p365xl for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved it. Sits on top of your junk just below the belt line and basically disappears. Has it's own belt so it doesn't drag down your pants like a standard holster. I prefer a full 4 finger grip on my carry piece for optimum control. The XL fixes all the issues I have with the regular 365 and the guns with similar sized grips. Comfortability in hand is high on my list when it comes to edc. If I ever have to draw to save my life or someone else’s, I want optimum control and comfortability in my hand for optimum and accurate shot placement. I don’t have chunky hands being tall and on the thin side but not small either having long fingers. Haven’t shot the Hellcat but heard it was snappy. I like the lower bore axis of the XL. Just felt and pointed like I could shoot it better then any of the rest and sure enough I was right. Props on the Shield Plus though. It definitely has the best trigger out of the bunch that I’ve pulled in this video but the XL was not far enough behind it to sacrifice how comfortable the XL felt and how natural it points.

    I have the Hellcat, the P365 and the Smith and Wesson Plus.
    They are all great quality, totally reliable with defense or range ammo.
    Hellcat is to 'flippy' for me. Should be my everyday carrier because it's so easy to hide and carries so many rounds... But the recoil makes me put the second third etc. rounds five inches from where I'm aiming especially if I'm in a hurry.
    I carry the P365 because it conceals well with the ten round mag and it stays pretty much on target even when firing rapidly.
    However, when I can, clothing permitting, I carry the Shield Plus with the short magazine.
    It is the performance center with four inch barrel so... not easy to hide some days, but darn, it hits where I'm aiming. Trigger and sights are just awesome. Three out of four will go into the same hole at seven yards... wow.
