Forza has always been well optimized for the PC, but I was absolutely amazed I could run it on all settings the highest on 1440p on my PC!

yeah i could run FH4 on ultra on a 450$ walmart laptop wioth a 1050m gpu lol but now im spoilt and have a 3070 so whewnever i drop below 144 frames/refresh rate i feel like im laggy, fucking hell 60fps makes it feel like a slide show to me now lol kinda bad

But we're not here for the comments and the video itself is an excellent showcase for Playground's superlative optimisation work across all platforms.

They are the gods of optimisation. 1080p locked 30fps on base xbox one when most games these days on there are more like 720p 20-30fps

@@bufalo3452 no, eso era muy diferente, eran 2 motores distintos en la versión de 360 y One.
Bueno, en realidad el mismo, pero uno era una versión más avanzada.
En este caso es el mismo motor, pero con recortes por aquí y allá, lo cual es mucho mejor.
@@bufalo3452 lo que pasó con la versión de Xbox360 del FH2 le recortaron muchas cosas incluso hasta en la música apropósito para resaltar y vender la versión de Xbox One ya que en ese tiempo del 2014 no le estaba yendo bien a la consola aprincípios de generación :(
No tiene nada que ver que la Xbox360 no tuviése el "poder" suficiente como dicen algunos. Y era un motor gráfico diferente también, y en manos de otro estudio que no era Playground Games 😔
Pues la version de old gen se mira bastante competente, y mas si lo comparamos con lo que fue en su dia las versiones de Xbox One y Xbox 360 de Forza Horizon 2 que parecian dos juegos totalmente diferentes.
Pues claro hay la xbox 360 tenia una ram de 512 mb y paso a 8gb en xbox one

Que buen trabajo de optimización se rifó el estudio para que en Xone no le tenga nada que envidiar a la nueva generación, sacrificamos vegetación, pero se ve igual de bien
The fact that this game runs at all on Xbox One at 1080p is some kind of optimization marvel by the developers. They really need to share their tricks with the rest of the industry lol.

It looks like the game has no issues running at all so I'm curious why they dont offer a 120 fps mode on the new consoles. They could probably make it happen
@@MrDeathRay that would mean a huge reduction in quality, there is already a performance mode in FH5 for the XsX and it runs @60fps and then there's the quality mode which runs @30fps which is comparable with PC on High and a few ultra settings enabled, to achieve 4K @120 that would mean the settings would need to be turned down to low or just reduce the picture quality from 4K to 1440p, my FH5 runs just fine on 4K on extreme settings and I'm getting 90fps on average sometimes it's at 80fps but never below 70.
@@curedanxiety1679 I think 1080p would run fine with high graphics settings. Low resolution high high fps. Alot of gaming monitors arent 4k so they should consider making a mode for that

The graphics on the Xbox One X look really great. I think Forza Horizon 5 and the new Halo will be the last two games that run and look very well on the XBOX ONE X. I don't have a Series X and I'm still very happy to be able to play these two games soon.

The Xbox One X is still a powerful beast in terms of its GPU capabilities, but unfortunately lacks a decent CPU so these older generation games will run at 30FPS on Xbox One X. Still, you’ll be getting the 4k treatment, games will still look great.
I'm disappointed on how it looks on One X - it looks like on Performance mode on SS but it runs at 30. One X has more powerful GPU and more RAM and yet they've done a lame job on One X.
@@ryutenmen you will get a better resolution over the Series S version though. It will look better than on CZcams running in real life on your 4k TV.
Naturally The Series X is the best version. Then the 2nd best version is a choice… go 4k 30fps on the Xbox One X OR 1080p 60fps on Series S

Muy bien por el xbox one, se ve 👌. Mi sobrino con 13 años es conocedor de los autos y le encantan los juegos de forza y ya espera al día 9 para jugarlo. Lo va a disfrutar mucho en su one.

Xbox series s is more powerful than a Xbox one x when it's properly taken advantage of. To name a couple of examples, Ori and the will of the wisps and Forza horizon 5 as shown here look and perform better overall on the series s than it does the one x.

Interesting that they chose to opt out from doing a 1080p 60FPS mode on Xbox One X like they did in Forza Horizon 4, this is probably due to the fact that it’s not the flagship console any more and the game is more ambitious in terms of scale, plus the developers have multiple versions to make this year so there would have been time constraints.
Probably because the world is more dense and complex overall. Making it run 60fps on a jag cpu would take a lot of work and optimization. Even DF said 60fps probably wasn't possible in FH3 but playground games pulled it of in the more advanced FH4(locked 60 actually). They are the best in the business
It's likely a CPU issue more than anything else, the One X Jag cores are extremely underpowered, such dense foliage and trackside detail would create a very unstable framerate.

I play Xbox one X, they have really done a good job fixing the slow framrate. They made it on 30fps but feels faster! Better then last horizon only the controller lag is horrible so go for next gen series S or X

Me caga que el modo 60fps se consiga bajando los gráficos y no la resolución en series X. Preferiría sacrificar la resolución pero que siga con esa misma calidad gráfica

Las diferencias son mínimas entre un modo y otro... o igual necesito verlo a 4K para ver si es tanto el cambio 😆
Si estás jugando en un panel 4K (especialmente los que jugamos a distancia cercana, en monitor) se agradece que vaya a 4K nativos recortando algunas cosas que no se notan demasiado en movimiento.
En lo que sí estoy de acuerdo es en un tercer modo que funcione en alta calidad y 1440p a 60 fps, más opciones siempre es bueno para todos.

Buenísimo video, hay cosas que me sorprenden gratamente, una es el nivel que tenía la Xbox One X, otra el salto que se nota con el cambio de generación, y lo cerca que está el quality mode de la Series X con el PC en cuanto a texturas, distancia de dibujado, etc...
Trabalho insano da Playground em termos de otimização, surreal o jogo rodar nessa qualidade mesmo até no Xbox One !
Fala mito, só achei que deveria ter um modo 60 fps nos series que sacrificasse a resolução ao invés da qualidade gráfica. Mas fora esse detalhe, todos os modos de renderização estão um verdadeiro absurdo.

Verdade cara! Eu fiquei com medo de vir um jogo mal otimizado e capado em questão de resolução (nos Xbox One base e no S), mas a Playground conseguiu manter ainda o 1080p 30fps e que ainda por cima o jogo não ficou feio. Bato palmas pelo trabalho deles e por não nos deixar decepcionado.

Además, es mucho mas facil conducir a altas velocidades sin cometer errores jugando a 60fps porque te llega el doble de información visual que al jugar a 30fps. Consejo de un tryhard, aceptalo si quieres.

@@mrdukedabeast711 No way, the super ultra wide is way better vs 16/9 aspect ratio. I have a 65” LG OLED curved and it looks really good but the immersion of the super ultrawide is not even close. 10 feet away from an 65”OLED or 20” away from a Superultra wide on a sim rig with wheel and bass shakers, not even the same at that point
And it looks super cool on Philips Ambilight 65 inch :)

I am a PC Gamer and have fell in love majorly with this game, FH4 being set in Scotland where I live & love of cars it was a no brainer but I’m totally astounded at how well the game plays.
I am debating on purchasing this game on steam or Microsoft Store? I do fancy eventually buying a Xbox for this game solely but need to get working again.
But enough of my love for the game, I really am thankful of your hard work in a short period of time.
Thanks for your video - prev X Box One seems pretty decent game play and graphics at 1080p @30 fps, good on Playground games especially when it's hard to find a X-Box next Gen (especially X) being in stock.

Given that a lot of people still can't get a hold of Series X's, the Series S is pretty good alternative and still handles the game pretty well. If you're not nit-picky with graphical setting differences between X and S, I'd say it'sall the more reason to nab one if you need a system to play Xbox Game Pass (of course if you have a good PC you can just play it on PC). Gotta love how affordable and how surprisingly well the Series S holds up with the latest games.

Series S is just useless with 500GB. I own a oneS with 1TB and this is even too small for old gen! 3 Big games + 2 mid games installed and your 1TB drive is full.

I remember Forza to have a dynamic system in place that not only scales resolution, but also other graphical features such as foliage, reflections etc., do you want to test the effect of that in a scripted scenes where load is more variable in each frame yet still comparable to a fixed PC-settings? I'd be interested in the game's graphical feature scaling on older hardware such as the Xbox One compared to mirrored, fixed PC-settings.
Playground are amazing. I live in the same town as them. Love to visit the studio one day and meet the hive of geniuses!
I live an hour away from them and love what they do. Easily the best Microsoft studio there is.
No importa donde lo jueges, en cualquier plataforma se ve espectacular. El único detalle que jugaría en contra a los jugadores de la generación anterior serían los tiempos de carga nada más. I was really worried about how the game would look for cause I have an old Xbox one. I obviously knew it would be nowhere near to close as the new gen but after seeing this I don’t feel so worried. Seems like the upclose graphics are a clear step down but otherwise the scenery and environment looks similar enough to enjoy the game and still see it as a new. I’m quite happy I can still enjoy this game on my old gen until I get a new series S

Wow sorprendido del Series S a pesar de que en el One X se ve más nítido si se nota más iluminación y detalles en la Series S. Creo que primero explorare el mapa en modo calidad y ya después a jugar a 60 fps
Este juego en series s el modo calidad en muy similar a la series x
La diferencia es que uno va 4k y el otro 1440p osea un poco mas alto del 2k y que el texturizado es un poco mas alto en series x del resto todo igual
@O N la diferencia es que uno te lo corre a 4k y la otra a 2k, en ciertos escenarios la sx es mejor
@O N si es ._., mira, lee , la resolución 4K es 3840 x 2160 o 2160p. Una imagen Full HD 1080p tiene solo una resolución de 1920x1080, pues con eso ya tenés

This is all I wanted to see I still don't have an Series X so I got my Xone I'm very happy to see it still looks just as good and it looks better then Horizon 4 very nice Playground games.
Im still running a Day one edition XB1 and the loading times are a killer. Once again PC is showing how its done. Time to upgrade I think... to PC

Amazing looking game and will be starting my install tonight on my PC. But a few small nitpicks for the console versions
Surprised the one X didn't get a 1080p60 mode tbh.
And series X should offer a dynamic resolution mode for 60 with the same visuals as the quality mode.
And a 1440p/dynamic 1440p 120fps mode. This was drastically benefit the game as it's a racing game.
It’s surprising to me but not at the same time that the Xbox one still plays the newest forza and it even looks really good and it’s basically a 2013 gaming pc but still good!
