Knowing a little history is extremely important to even start a open discussion , that’s a fact that people used to get married at a very young age due to having no entertainments , no night life what so ever , even there was no night shifts for anyone , people slept enough , had more energy because they consume natural food without any chemical , and marriage at a very younge age was very common , slowly in beginning of 1900 thing changed and women were introduced to start working in mid 1900 and most westerners don’t want to marry before 40 so they can enjoy and have freedom thus having children at the later stage of life is not as easy

We can clearly understand from the biography of her older sister Esma that Hz. Aisha was older when she got married. When talking about Esma, the old biography books say:
“Asma died at the age of one hundred, in the 73rd year of the Hijra. She was twenty-seven years old at the time of the Migration. Because Hz. Aisha is ten years younger than her sister, she must have been exactly seventeen years old in the hijra. Also, Hz. Aisha, was engaged to Jubayr before the Prophet. وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْۖ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ۚ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْۖ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِۚ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا
English - Sahih International
And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allāh as Accountant.
In the Surat a nisa 4:6 Allah tells you to put to test the orphans until you find they are mature for marriage and as a Muslim I am it makes total sense, it doesn't mean because British emperor's or your grandad married your grandma at the age of 6-7-8-9 it means it's ok, remember Allah is telling you to test them capabilities until you see clearly they have reached the age for marriage that means not only phisically but mentally.
