- As part of my red Raleigh Burner restoration I picked up a set of rusty old chrome wheels. In this video I show you how to them back from scrap to usable in a few simple steps.

Top job there fella. 👏 I need to do this on my Grifter wheels. I used Poundland soapy scourers which didn't remove much 😁 but foil + water did a pretty good job on a 2017 Chopper I acquired for free last year. 😃
It’s bloody hard work though, it’s made my shoulder ache 😂😂😂
Nice video . I did this with handlebars that were rusty. I used wd40 instead of coke. Didnt want the sticky mess on the kitchen table. Video on my channel.
Just had a look, nice job. Those bars came up lovely with WD40, I’ll have to try that method.
The Coke Cola isn’t all that messy/sticky to be honest.

Nice job on the wheels I just done I set for 700c wheel from I raleigh team banana frist road bike and the Last one I will do mate. Lol
Lol 😂 I’ve done a cruiser/Klunker but not a road bike. I had a Team Banana in the late eighties, I can’t remember what happened to it actually, now I think about it 🤷♀️

I polished with Autosol to finish.
I don’t apply any other treatments; I store them in the house so they won’t rust anyway 😊
If coke can clean a rim like that,imagine what it does to your stomach lining! Nice work!

What sandpaper you used for the spokes?
It depends how bad they are. Normally a 180 grit emery cloth to remove the worst, and then polish with a 400 grit wet or dry and/or wire wool.
