Epic Chant: Suguidanon of Panay Bukidnon|Rolinda Gilbaliga|Sugidanon

- Suguidanon is a tradition in Panay Bukidnon that is still being practiced and preserved the ethnic group in Panay Island, particularly in Iloilo and Capiz.
Suguidanon is telling a story through chanting which is characterized by a particular tone and timbre.
Customarily, the Suguidanon epic is passed on the next generation also through chanting.
I closed my eyes when you started chanting, I felt a strange sensation all over my body. Maybe the genes of my ancestors in me stirred by your song. Iloilo native man ako Ma'am. Barotac Nuevo born, San Joaquin raised. This is the very reason why I started my channel. To seek, record and safeguard our hidden national heritage. Goal ko mabisita every remote village of every town of the country para sa old languages, songs, poems, stories and traditions. Hopefully this crisis ends soon para maka panglugayawun run ako. I am looking forward to visit your home village. I hope I meet you personally to show my appreciation and gratitude. Thank you for keeping the old ways alive for all of us to witness. Salamat guid. Wow I'm really proud to be a panay bukidnon. Thanks for this video I learned a lot about Suguidanon and lolo pedring and bilang isa ka estudyante sa Central Philippine University very rare lang gd ang makameet sang kabalo about saaton culture and tribe and its so funny that I am the only one in my class and strand who have a indegenous blood. I hope that i can meet you soon and watch a show about our tribe and for sure I can learn more. Godbless!❤
