I still tear up when I see these guys together, I still miss it. It was a shame what the networks did to this show. They could have had a ten season show and they just flushed it, Josh and the gang deserved better.
I am so glad they stayed away from bizzare latex aliens and presented a universe populated with people. The story line was fantastically engaging and the cast had a unique chemistry that pulled it all together. Kudos to Summer Glau for creating one of the most memorable and compelling characters ever!

I suppose the truth (whatever that is) is going to be more complicated, if not impossible, to assess. Regardless, Serenity will always be one of my personally favorite films of all time. It's quite telling that MOST of the people he's worked with refused to join the hate train against him.This "controversy" seems like nothing more than glorified work disputes from a FEW sour grapes on 2 troubled sets. To this day, the Firefly cast never shut up about how much they love the guy. Everyone on Dollhouse & Avengers seemed to like him too. Everyone on Dr. Horrible VOLUNTARILY worked for him for FREE! It's important to look at the big picture & NOT reduce a whole person to a FEW stressed out moments.
Its not fair to place another human being on a pedestal & then rip them to shreds when they're found to have flaws. Personally I just thought he was an awesome storyteller who seemed to have the love & respect of MOST of his collaborators. Actually.....(considering the MAJORITY of his colleagues refused to join the outrage mob) I STILL feel that way & wish him all the best!

Wikipedia states that: The "mythology" of the Reavers in Firefly and Serenity has been said to be different. However, with Whedon going out of his way to stress this: it may just be what confirms it - that it was in there, from the beginning. Granted, perhaps not directly in the Firefly show, but the idea(s) had to have been there..;)
So clearly Nathan Fillion is socially entertaining and pleasant guy and Im probably interpreting something wrong, but do you think working on serenity was as much mentally demanding for him as he says in 6:21 ?
