yeh seen they video's I went there because I was a resident of Shotts stayed up at the prison houses In Shotts and the one thing u never knew was in the 90's was what was the Hartwood Siren or the Fire Brigade Horn going I mind getting locked out wance because ma mum thought it was the Fire Brigade wan n ma pals knew what it was I sort of knew but I thought it maybe was an alarm in the jail or something like that but naw someone told me it was the hartwood ones to go to ur mums door n beg to get in but nothing major happened had to stay in doors for a few hours until the prison phoned everyones house phone at the prison well ones who worked in the prison and my dad worked in there as a warden and we got told it was someone running away confused and wanting to jump off on to the Hartwood Railway line soo they managed to get the patient back in luckily not anything to worry about but once someone did escape and were talking to me when me and friends were playing hide n seek n he spoke to me n said do u like board games am like yes but am playing hide n go seek the now then the guy got aggressive and shouted SIT DOWN ON THE BLOODY LOG AND PLAY IT THEN!!! I then bolted pals asked me how I was but yea that was a hartwood patient who must have escaped and hadn't been found sooo scary but yea sad hartwood's state its in now
Last weekend Urbexy, i was here 4 years ago and got access to the Nurses accommodation, returned to do the towers but couldn't gain access and most of the buildings have been pulled down now
For me to get into the asylum further down I had to climb up the stairs on the side of the walls. Really nice in the asylum.

so sad that most of its away now we loved it at Hartwood and i could just imagine me jamsie and fay trying to get under that fence
lol yeah it was a bit of a struggle and to be honest it wasn't even worth the effort now
