Cameos are short by definition. Carrie Fisher was a cameo, James Earl Jones was a guest star and had more screen time than most of the regular cast in that episode.
Two greats that were left out were Charlie Sheen in The Big Bang Theory ("Call me when you're on the cover") and Stephen Hawking on Star Trek:TNG.

No wonder my teen self thought that Billy Crystal and Robin Williams' cameo was random, if they literally wandered onto the set, and improvised that dialogue. It was hilarious, though, and I love how the main pals gradually get more invested in the story. 😂

As a note, none of the cast members knew Williams & Crystal were showing up (the opening scene was written without them in it). Monica's line of "I don't remember what I was talking about" was improvised by her because the pair threw the cast off so much she had no honest idea how to continue. It was a hilarious scene.
Carrie Fisher’s cameo appearance in TBBT was great.
I loved the entire concept of the episode in that James Earl Jones (a super serious Shakespearian actor) is a big giant joyful nerd. His smile throughout each scene was wonderful and he made for a great guest star.
As a huge "Sabrina" and Britney fan, you can bet that her unexpected cameo was a huge treat for me in the mid 2000's, when I first caught this episode.
I thought Britney Spears' cameo in How I Met Your Mother was more iconic.
Her cameos in How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace were better because she was acting. In Sabrina and Jane The Virgin she played herself.
Melissa and Britney were actually friends back in the day. Melissa even appeared in some music videos!
My favorite cameo ever was on an SNL skit with Mike Meyers and Madonna where they were doing "Coffee Talk" and constantly talking about Barbra Streisand. Then Barbra just shows up seemingly out of nowhere! I still laugh just thinking about it.
That reminds me of The Joe Pesci Show skit and , probably a season finale, Joe Pesci & Robert De Niro appear and give their , lets say "constructive criticism "!
WatchMojo has a separate entry for "Best SNL Cameos" because there have been so many of them over the years. The Streisand one was their #1 choice as well. My favorite was Steve Martin appearing on Weekend Update. Spade was doing his Hollywood Minute bit and he was trashing Martin's new movie "Leap of Faith". While he was doing it, you see someone standing behind him (the camera is in standard closeup of Spade's face so the at-home audience couldn't tell who it was while the studio audience were cheering). Camera pulls back and you see it's Martin (who wasn't scheduled to be on that week), quietly sipping a drink looking down at Spade. Spade looks up at Martin while Martin silently motions for Spade to leave. Sheepishly, Spade walks off not saying anything and Martin sits down in Spade's chair. He then continues the Hollywood Minute except now it has a picture of Kevin Spade and Martin says "Hi, I'm a wanna comedian who knows I have a future in Hollywood so I get back at much more successful people in the business by making unfunny snide comments about them."
In light of the Eddie Murphy controversy, that bit is EVEN better since you could picture Murphy wishing HE was the one who could have read that card ripping on Spade and SNL :)

One of my absolute favorite cameos was on an episode of spin city. Michael J Fox’s character was about to meet a new therapist. They scene went something like, MJF was talking to someone saying something to the effect of how can I be sure I can share my inner most feelings with this new therapist. When the new therapist came out, the actor was Michael Gross.
Alex Trebek had my favourite cameo on a memorable episode of The X-Files.

Michelle Obama’s cameo and iCarly is pretty amazing. I can’t stop watching her on it, especially when she tells Carly that her and her husband talks to people that have family that are serving in the military and I know how hard it can be to be away from a family member that’s in the military. My cousin on my dad side was in the military at one point, but then he stopped doing it but either way it’s just for Michelle to do that kind of thing I think that’s her best cameo in the episode

I recently watched a CZcams video of the best scenes from "Big Bang Theory" season 11. I did so because the thumbnail showed Sheldon and Amy getting married. I doubted such a thing would happen, but it did. In the front row of the bride's side, I spotted Teller of "Penn and Teller" (as her Dad?!). That was a further unexpected shock.
