Losing sucks, but I don't mind losing to a better team on the day. Our first half was embarrassing, we only started to play like World Champions in the second half. Congratulations to Ireland, they're an amazing team. They gave us a taste of our own medicine with a 1 point defeat.

What a game. All week I had this nasty feeling in my stomach, thinking that Ireland was going to throw the kitchen sink at us. The team announcements did nothing to comfort me; I looked at that team sheet thinking that Ireland might be stronger this week and it turns out I was right.
Credit to Ireland for coming out swinging and bringing the fight to the Boks. It was an all out assault and it is a credit to the exceptional resilience of the Springboks to still be in the game at half time.
Second half came, bomb squad came and we were without doubt the better side during that period.
Thing with one point wins is this - both teams were very equal, but the one team was just able to do what was necessary to clinch it. Ireland did just that; despite being bested for almost the entire half, they were able to scratch and claw their way into the narrowest of leads at the latest of moments.
Well done to this absolute champion side for the most exhilarating game of rugby played since the end lf the world cup.
I know this is scant consolation, but Ireland proved that they definitely were good enough to win the world cup last year. Had they had one or two calls go their way, had they had jist a little more luck, had they pushed jist a little bit further, they could really have done it and tonight proved it.
A series decider would have been nice but... I don't think my heart would have been able to hold out. I suspect a fair amount of Irish and South Africans would agree.
Well done, Ireland. You've done yourselves proud.

My ( and I would feel most who see this) opinion is Doris initially engages in a clearout on their hooker, but releases due to Ryan also engaging or rolling the same player. Doris is already low and falling with weight and force of James Ryan tackle coming through.
It’s a rugby incident which was reviewed and Doris was carded based on it not being intentional. To claim straight red has to be based on your claim that Doris knew or intended to do harm. I feel this is where your fair points loose weight.
I enjoy the channel and your breakdowns, just feel this specific focus as an argument for red is harsh when all else is taken into account on this phase of play.

After the ref awarded Ireland a penalty. The ref missed a Irish Lineout dummy. What's a Lineout dummy you ask? A Lineout dummy is where you pretend to throw the ball the first time and throw the ball on the second time. I was not expecting a Irish drop goal in the dying seconds of the match. South Africa weirdly enough refused to score any tries this match, and only did penalty kicks. So Ireland was the only team that was able to score the only try of the match.

I think Ireland are one of the few teams who can match the famed South African physicality. I think most other top teams would have lost both tests by at least 10 points in that feral atmosphere with the Boks on a revenge mission. No one over here thinks Ireland are better than the Boks. That's just the media hyping things up. I must admit I didn't think that this tour was a good idea. I thought our boys were already showing signs of fatigue in the league and and European competitions. I thought we would lose both tests and probably be hammered in one of them. Instead i think we have got much more positives than negatives. The first test we played quite poorly for half the game but managed to get ourselves back in contention. The second test was a big improvement. Main benefit for us was the emergence of Osborne as an alternative to Kennan and Frawley as a viable option at ten.

If Ireland 5 wasn't involved, and it was the same result, then I'd agree with you. As a Bok fan I'm really pissed in any case, we don't know yet if Marx is injured again, he did finish the game, but the risk to injury there is really very high. But even so, with the influence of Ireland 5, TMO couldn't say for sure that it was an intentional attacking of the leg. For all we know, Doris could've been looking at the leg thinking "oh fuck, I hope I don't land on Marx's leg" because I think at that point he might not be in control of his actions. You can see the reasons why all out Mauls collapsed. Marks were definitely planned. Porter should have had a yellow card after the 3rd scrum pull down. Only thing dickson did right there was to pay attention to that just not gave the card.
At the mauls there was always a player off the feet behind bongi that new rolled away and with push back from Ireland caused the boks to trip over that player. The fact that none of the AR's or tmo didnt pick that up wow.
Beside the hurdle jumping again the rucks still offside players were not penalized.
