Another Irish listener here. Breath of fresh air this podcast! There are toxic online supporters trolling on both sides... but between the URC and the recent match-ups with the Boks... the growing relationship between Irish and Saffer teams has been the most important and enjoyable aspect of Irish rugby these last few years. Best o luck in championship... see yous in the new season! ✊

Irish fan and would like to congratulate the world champions and just say winning one game against such vaunted opposition means alot to ireland. It's a measure of the opposition. But over both games there is nothing between the teams (and hasn't been for a few years). Fabulous team the boks (that full back mngomezulu will be special), look forward tonthe next clash! Great rugby (which we got in all the matches this weekend) is what matters! Games that are in the balance at the end. Spoilt we are.

If Ireland didn’t win that match there would be a lot of talk about South Africa’s second last kick at goal given it wasn’t a penalty. The ball was tapped back by a South African to an Irish player and the ref gives South Africa a penalty

I have looked at that incident myself and the more I look at it the more I think there was a penalty given for accidental off side. The South African player knocked it back I think and I think Mc carthy caught it in an off side position. There was no Irish knock on which everyone thought the penalty was given for. I don’t think we can have any complaints to that particular kick penalty. At the time I was roaring at the ref.

It was Ireland's last game in a very long 55 week season. It was nice to end it with a win. I'm glad we won the 2nd one rather than the first. I do think of what might have been if JGP and Hugo Keenan were in the squad, might we have got 2 wins, but who knows now?. It was a very enjoyable spectacle between two titans of rugby. There was a point SA were given a penalty 3 points for a knock on that was actually came off an SA hand. So that’s minus 3 for SA. 🤷 If 1 point is good enough to win a World Cup it’s enough to comprehensively beat the boks! Thanks for your analysis. Till next time.

On the Doris red card, Etzebeth and Snyman go through the ruck tackling McCarthy off the ball, illegally preventing him clearing out, Etzebeth then continuues to hold him forcing Ryan who was about 8 yards away, had the ref blown for that penalty, Ryan would be nowhere near the ruck and no yellow card. Absolutely the period where SA got a hold, forcing penalties from a tired 14 men. The other key moment was SA going in front for the first time, Nash was penalised for a knock on when in fact he missed it and Sacha Feinberg knocked it backwards, once again a refereeing error awarding points at key moments. Without these Ireland would have stayed well in front.

Yes, we all know you're the world cup champs and deservedly so.... but you haven't dominated any top sides. Winning every world cup knock out match by only 1 pt is ample proof of that and you won the final against 14 men.
The last 5 games between Ireland and SA ---- 4 wins for Ireland and ONLY 1 win for you boks. You absolutely cannot say you're better than Ireland with that record. Ireland kept you tryless at the weekend on your home patch. I hope you're enjoying your humble pie.

"dominating" top sides almost never happens these days chief (apart from the 35-7 thrashing we gave the ABs last year), take your 1 point win and be gracious about it.

If SA go on to win the Rugby Championship , this game will be one of the reasons. Ireland ar a very difficult side to beat, and SA have lost 3 of the last 4 games between them.

This is such a biased review and coming from rugby player it just feels not right. Ireland over 80 minutes were by far the best team the first 30 minutes of rugby in that game was faultless by Ireland , I don’t think the boks in their wildest dreams can play rugby like that. SA scored 12 points when Ireland were down to 14, they never even looked like scoring a try and although it was a drop kick that won the game just before it Ireland were camped out on the SA line with a try held up. Ireland were better and considering the disadvantages they had to put up with it they won with a better game of rugby…

And your comments not biased? as a fellow Irish man, your forgetting this is a fair analysis from their perspective on where they felt they went wrong or should have done better. It was a game of two halfs and in fairness we didn't play our best game either in that second half we gave away far too many penalties, something we usually have better discipline on, what we did have to make up for it was sheer dogged determination, to claim one side was clearly better then the other when there was a single point difference is a little arrogant as it could just as easily went the other way had frawley missed that shot.

This comment here just proved my point I've made about most irish fans & media, its like they have an insecurity & always trying to prove that they are a "great" rugby nation/team even if we give it to them their recent years success its like they always want to be part of the big boys conversations. We see u guys & we acknowledge ur recent years success but for me its more embarrassing losing to a team like ireland given what we have!

Rassie planned to set up his old squad for defeat but they just wouldn’t lie down. In the first test he ran them ragged with Japanese style attack then in the second he re-selected all 1000 caps to do it again.
Luckily Ireland sneaked a win in the second game otherwise Rassie wouldn’t have been able to turn the churn for another year and we would have fallen behind on project World Cup V

Great 2 test matches. But, it’s Hard to take you lads seriously while you’re selling second hand cars and shoving biscuits down your pie holes. Seems to be that you live in some type of alternative reality where you find it impossible to accept that Ireland may possibly be a better team than SA. Or worse, one than that was more physical than you lads.

My verdict...I acknowledge is new plans & I understand the thinking behind it, but from the 1st game I've been saying that this game plan missed Manie & Willemse! Given where Pollie is in his career one should've thought trying to get him back into the style of rugby he played in his youth will maybe take longer, then working on Manie's kicking defects🤷 all n all no panic alarms, just the embarracement of losing to ireland which sits on the same level as losing to Japan personally.

You're comment is an embarrassment and you cannot spell, Japan clipped you once, that irish team has done you 4 out of the last five test matches and well while most south Africans will appreciate that, you're obviously the exception to the rule, you're wonderful country doesn't need supporters like you, best of luck in the rugby championship 👍 🇮🇪🇿🇦

Biased as fk! SA have a nassive team with a massive bench. Ireland don’t have that and we have players missing. Ireland are in your backyard and don’t have the crowd or backing compared to South Africa. Ireland done brilliantly in this second test and you can’t hand it to them?? I love SA and so much respect, just wish SA can have the same in defeat 🤡.

You’re holding a lot of pride in springboks coming back in the second? A lot of that was you playing against 14 men for 10 minutes and also ref awarding you penalties for Nash not even touching the ball in the air for the offside pen, and then not awarding Beirne and Kelleher with hands on the ball and then giving a pen against Ireland for offside a moment later, sprinboks got some very fortunate reffing in that second half which is the only reason Ireland didn’t win by more, would’ve been an absolute robbery had the officials guided the sprinboks to a victory in the second half

The amount of ref blaming by the paddies in this series is off the charts. I'd always been led to believe it's the saffas that blame refs, seems paddies are working hard to claim that title
