There’s a tutorial mode by pressing the game mode button (above the play button). Also, all controls are rebindable in the settings, if you want to bind drift to space. Also the first few rounds are bots.
Fortnite festival is what I’m excited about because it’s basically Guitar hero/ Rock Band

Same here, but honestly LEGO and Racing has been a lot of fun. Fortnite is on a whole ‘nother level now.

A good racing game has rubber-banding. And I am not referring to the AI.
In a good racing game:
Your max speed is effected by your current place in the race. If you are 2nd place, your max speed is "base max speed +10%". 3rd place is "base max speed +20%" and so on. In more realistic racing games, this mechanic is emulated via "slip streaming".
Slip streaming is when you drive faster if you are driving directly behind them and stay in the "air pocket" they created, thus avoiding the drag that the car infront of you is dealing with.
By allowing all the cars behind you to have slightly faster max speed than you, it gives them a chance to catch up, leading to closer and more exciting races AND keeps all the racers close to eachother for a more action packed race. And more over, doing this means you can't just rely on being ahead of the pact to win, you also have to drive smart, know how to block your fellow racers from passing you, ect.
I think for this mode to even remotely be good, it needs that kind of rubber-banding max speed mixed with car melee combat:
- dash-left and right to attack cars around you, which can also be used to dodge track obstacles that can do damage to you.
- spins to attack cars infront of you.
- downward slam while in the air to attack cars under you (it's a great counter against cars who were behind you, bait them for an attack, jump out of the way and SLAM!)
Slams would be harder to pull off so they would be an INSTANT KO rather than just doing damage. Allowing for more controls like this also allows for the maps to be less. . . sterile and bland; giving tighter obstacles cause you now have more fine tune control.
Well, it’s launch day. I’m sure they’ll update it with more mechanics in the future.
Also I think rubber banding might already be in the game? I remember being on a straightaway as first, and without either of us drifting or anything, just moving in a straight line, second was able to get neck and neck with me.

man I love this game mode I did not really care about till I played it then I got hooked if you go into the advanced or expert lobbys it gets really chaotic

I honestly was not very excited for the game mode but it’s actually pretty fun
I played it got 1st or top 4 and with all of them games there was one thing I couldn't do and that was

Zack you have to try the actual Rocket League game, it so amazing. You get to play some many types of modes and you can upgrade through the season pass.
