@@monkethefirst7636tru but most gcs from 2018 are still gcs to regular ssl now. pro level makes GCs look like bronze 1 in comparison so the progression is still wild considering he didn’t even progress the first few seasons in the video.

@@KeyyDoccit was easier than it is now but it was hard back then. Everything is hard/impossible until it’s normalized. The 900 on a skateboard seemed impossible to do until Tony hawk did it. Now a lot of skaters have done 900s and some have gone beyond that number. Now today skateboarding is beyond what it was 20 years ago but wasn’t any easier back then.

@@real_Schrooten I have ~7k games (if I remember correctly) at gc2 I haven’t played consistently since before free to play. If I did play the entire time I’d be SSL. Peak 1650 season 13, Peak 1644 season 5. Other than that I’ve stopped playing almost completely especially since epic is stopping trading I have no reason to support the game

Diamond is significantly worse than these old gc replays. I would say it’s more comparable to the mid champ range

press X to doubt, current GC is basically the same as GC back then except for people being more mechanical. 2018 GC is still way more coordinated and players get more power on their hits than Diamond players. It's probably mid Champ as the other guy said, but with less than average aerial mechs for the rank. @@hyparfv

Those 2 seasons where he played 3k plus games is where he completely transformed, went from a casual/everyday player like us to grinding with purpose and it’s not like he got the mechanics out of nowhere as well he still wasn’t up there mechanically until he started getting top 100, shows that simply playing the game consistently and ranking up Is the quickest way to improve no matter what level, everything else will eventually fall into place
considering he was already GC at 11, at a time when that was the highest rank, it's more that he had inborn talent

The amount of games is not very relevant because most hours go into freeplay.
Other cool similar video idea: going over some of the past goats (scrub, fairy peak, uhmm..) cause i wasn't playing or watching rl when they were at their peak and i hear them mentioned so often but never know what these players achieved exactly and why it's so special.

wait im curious, whats so bad about wavedash kickoff? or is the straight jump without angling thats the sad part?
i only play competitive casually and generally am mid c1 in 3's so kickoffs can get pretty scuffed, but my wavedash kickoff pretty much always beat any opponent. as well as being able to direct it the way i want like >60% of the time, although i think that probably has less to do with wavedash than car control..
just curious what the shade on wavedash was, or if it was because the way he wavedashed

was gonna say I'm C3 and always do the wavedash kickoff. stared as a way to practice wavedashing but I've done it ever since. I don't see how its better or worse than your normal kickoffs, aside from speedflipping obviously
