    Keef is the epitome of Rock n’ Roll. He’s lived up to all the hype, danced with the devil in all the excess and extremes, & been a tough, lovable character throughout. The key word is, he’s LIVED...as in stayed with us, at times when it seemed unlikely, & lived, as in, experienced life, the world & damn near everything in it. If you look up rockstar, there should indeed be a picture of him with his Telecaster.

      totally agree ,they're in sync ,on the $, groovin' to their own. he did his 1st rendition of Sympathy 4 the devil n he is so funny as he's singing tough the first part of it...it was brand new video way back when ..And he emphasizes lyrics so you're listening n get the feeling ...if the devil speaking n in thinking you prob had a nice deep chat w him n some other unholy critters too.... I was a big fan of 60s Mick blues / video of him And the heavy Muddy , and Mick just took ownership of his song. Muddy wX just chilling and loved it. he's so cool. Mick can play that "harp" whoa esp w bluesy tunes, it r,ocks.

    very impressive playing and they were dialed in exactly. People often think the Stones are loose because of being such experienced players, but do not be deceived. There are times when split second precision is required. They just make it look easy. Bill Wyman wrote that they always had this slightly off rhythm, and many of us recognize it's uniqueness. Charlie followed Keith and Bill followed Charlie, and he said they were frequently on the point of collapse. Truly inspiring.

  • @ledamate
    @ledamate Před 14 lety +29

    Timing segments of a song come like pieces of the entire puzzle. Like verses, choruses, and solos all take so many measures to complete. When you do it often enough in an established band you naturally feel the transitions coming. Charlie always triple snaps the snare during these transistions and is usually helping everyone recognize the next change. Very early when Charlie started with the stones he was not as cemented in this technique but picked it up later on. Now a trademark! Go Charlie!

So I asked what their best song was in that show. He said Out of Control. I said: "That song sucks it lacks something." He agreed that on the CD it's weak but live it was tremendous. And indeed live it was far away their best song of that tour. It really blew the roof off. Keef playing that hard overtone driving rhythm at the end of the song and the kept doing that for several minutes and everybody was jumping and clapping. It was amazing. It's really amazing that these so called "musicians" aren't impressed by Keith but all of the so called great guitar players that are named all look up to Keith as one of their major influences. No one has ever duplicated his style and no one can. Put the guy on the pedistal where he belongs and kiss his feet and say "Thank You".

    4:50 to coda - quintessential Stones.
    Keith riffing and Ron with the lead while Jagger prances and blows harp.
    Saw them in the Kingdome here in Seattle for this tour, 22 years ago this month.

    • @tomm3315
      @tomm3315 Před 9 lety

      +frank frankly There is no JAM here! It's a 7 minute song with 3 minutes of decent guitar playing. No Jam at all kind sir, a decent rock/pop song, but no JAM = 10+ minutes at least and must contain STRONG guitar playing.
