Bootleg bcg w the Radian sd gave the perfect ejection. You can clearly see the gas diversion. Excellent work Sir. Thank you for this video. With both the Bootleg & Sharps adjustable bcgs on different set ups I'm seeing amazing results in tuning. THESE ARE GREAT TIMES GENTLEMAN !!!!!!!!!!
Good stuff!
Do you have a preference between the Bootleg or the Sharps?
Awesome video. Awesome setup. Love my Bootleg 4 pos BCG and radian ch setup.
Thanks. Ya it’s great!
Love how you present information. Great setup you have there.
Thanks a lot!
@@ExplorersWorkbenchwhat spring
@@chadwallace940 oh just the standard spring that came with it. I was thinking of upgrading to the Geissele super braided, but have not needed too
@ExplorersWorkbench oh and it runs fine suppressed I'm building one now I have a nk18 upper
I have the exact same setup and it works great. takes a few shots to tune in but works awesome.
Good stuff
Your ejection was a lot better too actually. That surprised me considering it doesn’t actually lessen the gas. Thanks for the video
yup! thanks
I thought these were gimmicky but after using one on a mk18 I was very impressed
Works well
nice!
Can def tell diff in carrier speed/ejection pattern between the two
Yup
Thanks for the video. I use the radian sd on almost half my rifles but dont think it's a noticeable difference compared to my Geissele airborne ch or super duty ch. And not a fan of adjustable gas blocks in the AR platform due to carbon build up. The gas blocks are probably fine for the average shooter who shoots a couple hundred rounds a month. Although ive gotten used to the gas, im interested in the adjustable bcg. Carbon fouling may be an issue after a few thousand rounds but its easier to clean
My biggest concern is the fact that they use YFS screws on the carrier key and the staking is very unconventional
Ya I’ve had no issue!
@Explorer's Workbench no issue with what? Charging handle, gas block or bcg?
@@seang1032 bcg
They don’t use yfs fasteners anymore and they changed the staking, the videos you’re watching were from 4 years ago, they released a v2 version now.
@jamfd3s788 that's great to hear. Thanks for the info
I'm really curious. I thought DD changed the gas port size? In all the MK18's being produced after 2017.
Ya they did, which makes it more reliable but more gassy
Slo-mo the gas leak comparison would be cool.
Will do in the future
Hiw can i buy this ?!
What butt stock are you using? What would I need if I go from a pistol brace to a true SBR butt stock if I follow the correct steps to register this with the ATF? Was looking at the Magpull STR and the LMT DMR. Thanks 😊
I like the B5 sopmod. Very sturdy.
What buffer and spring set up are you running??
H2
Can I ask why you went with the YHM Turbo as your 1st can?
Because it’s a great value can. Best bang for your buck!
Cause it’s Cheap and just as good as a $1k+ can. I got my t2 for $300 plus stamp.
I considering the bootleg BCG but I'm hearing it makes it louder at the ear
With suppressor?
You running an H3 buffer?
H2
I’ve seen the Geissele SCH does better than the Raptor SD at gas mitigation to the face! Look into it!
Interesting
Na Geissele don’t do shit for gas. The radian hardly does anything. The only charging handles I’ve seen actually do a tinywhiney bit difference is griffarm charging handle,Bcm mk2 and GMS15 Evo charging handle.
I have a mk18 and I have a geissele charging handle and an adjustable gas block and I’m having cycling issues. You think I can have this bcg with having an adjustable gas block or is it an overkill
Ya you can have adjustable gas block with the this bcg, if you dial it in correctly. I would try and tune your gas block first, If your still having issues you could give this bcg a try.
Would a mk18 be good for general purpose/shtf
Absolutely. It would be my go to.
@@ExplorersWorkbench ok
@@ExplorersWorkbench I thought it would be fine since the average engagement distance is short so I wouldn’t need all that barrel for shutdown
@@ExplorersWorkbench shtf*
@@IsaiahJoshua Ya the mk18 is designed for close quarters, but it's effective passed 300 yds. That covers every type of shooting or shtf scenario for me. If you want to get into precision shooting or hunting than sure look into longer setups with scopes and what. not, but to be honest my longer setups collect a lot more dust bc I don't use them.
How's the recoil?
No noticeable difference in recoil.
Not a Phillips screwhead it is a standard. also you're comment that a straight line Pointing forward is suppressed and pointing back is normal makes no sense when it's a straight line and it looks the same when it's turned a 180°. Appreciate the information and the video showing the Shooting with and without gas effect.
Thanks!
Flat head, not a Philips
Yes thank you
@ExplorersWorkbench Thank you for the work through too. I myself am sick of my eyes burning.
