I love the Sammy Davis Jr spin and bend on all the songs and music he does. it's like people who play a harmonica as a perfectionist. clean draws and notes. but when Sammy gets on his harmonica ; he bends the shit out of those notes and brings a sleeping note to life and wide awake. True definition of doing what you love how you love to do it and not giving in to mass population.
Sammy never lost that suppleness in his voice. He was still in his prime, up to the cancer in his esophagus because of damned cigarettes. Sammy could have lived longer but he didn't want to lose that voice. Then in the end, they couldn't save him once that cancer went into the lymph nodes. It went everywhere. I'm still sad but we know Sammy Davis Jr is with his Maker. And maybe, just maybe, Sammy, Frank, Dean, and are singing, all together again, for Peter at the pearly gates.
Absolute talent! Mr. Davis was always an entertainer who gave his all at every performance, this is an excellent example of his artistry! Thank you for sharing! Be well, JSE.
Amen !!!! Mr. Davis was the Original Greatest Entertainer on Earth and then passed the torch to Sir MJ !!!! We are blessed to have been witness their God given gifts that they shared with the planet, we thank them !!!!
UCKABAH - This was part of the gala celebration for the opening of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The location is Devos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, MI
Amazing voice!...I have seen that set before... I believe that is the Nelson Riddle orchestra and during this concert Frank Sinatra sang the Beatles "Something in the way" might have been the concert to be at during the day.
He acted like he was still in his 20s-30s even tho he was old, one of the best entertainers ever, this is where Michael Jackson learned how to be great
delirous8 it'd called an older past and respectable time where you wait to get riled up and clap and ect cause you listen appreciate their entire performance. This isn't songs they bring ya in to clap along to ect. Unless the artist involves the crowd; this is soul, love, history, film, this is life through music. very rare anyone including Sammy get people to join in clap ect. But this is more in the future and time we come from compared to when he first started his career as a hoofer, actor, comedian and singer.
Ronnie's still dead, though. Maybe one day Sammy will return to the future, as the future is now. But Sammy is the hoofer we need, not the hoofer we deserve.
What can I say. This is the one and only Sammy Davis Jr., the consumate entertainer. He never disappoints. He always gives 200%.
I could listen to this song over and over and never get tired of it. Terrific!
This cat could swing! Today's entertainers cannot hold a candle to this guy.
What a Powerhouse, what an entertainer. The likes of which we won't see again . RIP Sammy,
Amen and amen again
Saw him twice in concert, it was like the musical equivalent of watching a perfect game being pitched in baseball.
When he said "Grand Rapids", it made my day! :) I think Sammy Davis Jr. does this song the best, out of all the different versions.
The Ultimate Entertainer!! This man could do everything well. Still blows me away.
Class Act* Mr. Sammy Davis Jr. (forgotten today) = Soul & harmony
Love him*50 stars
Sammy! Just a legend!
Foi o melhor, sem dúvida.

Truly one of the greats, him and Dean had what a call butter voice, meaning no matter if you don't like the song it melts in your heart, truly magical.
Perfect!!! Need to hear it three more times or more!
What a talent, he was part of the Rat Pack, but Sinatra and Martin, both said Sammy Davis was the real singer in the group.
They knew who was the real star of the Rat Pack: the "kid" in the middle, SDJR.
Multi talented with his own unique way of singing......he dances , sings, acts, plays musical instruments.......

Sammy, like the rest of the Rat Pack, had a man's voice...MJ had an often whiney wee boy's voice by comparison...
My aunts used to sing this and I loved it

Astonishing. Mesmerising. The greatest entertainer of All Time. In the days before the dreaded auto-tune.
Sammy is the greatest, along with a sizzzling orchestra.
🙌❤👏2024
How did such a wee, skinny guy, sing with a such a full-voiced; barrel-chested; Pavarotti-type powerhouse voice??!!
Senza Parole!
No words! :|

I didn't know you before but thanks to BTS V now I know and I'm thankful..you are really great artist
That's man is a janjus xxxxx
Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra once said that, of the entire Rat Pack, Sammy was the only real singer.
Anyone know where this performance was from?
Randy Sammy at 5:26!
He acted like he was still in his 20s-30s even tho he was old, one of the best entertainers ever, this is where Michael Jackson learned how to be great
Sammy Davis. Jr. was one of the influences that made MJ the great entertainer that he was.

What a dead audience! Don't they know a legend is in front of their eyes.
Quite literally when it comes to ol' Ronnie!

They did. Audiences back in the day were different.
