This was probably the set I was most likely to purchase this year until I saw the price tag and stickers. That's a real mood killer.
Agreed - on any of these display sets I strongly prefer stickerless sets.
the flat white wedge bricks on top of the build near the airlocks look really tacky imo. i feel like that also contributes to it not looking as clean as i would’ve expected it to be

And the head just looks so off.

These midiscale sets are absolutely brilliant. Never bought a UCS set due to the size but this will be a fine addition to my collection.

The more I look at this the less I like it. Something about that front bothers me. Just looks out of proportion or something. That said, I LOVE the box art on all of the 25th Anniversary sets and the brick!
I’ve had the opposite experience. If you can get it on sale take the chance and sell it if you still feel the same way.
Agreed. The bridge/cockpit seems too small
These new sets really hit that sweet spot for me as an adult fan and looking for more displayability....without having to shell out $400-800 for UCS line. Plus they don't take up a massive real estate of those sets. The whole value of LEGO to me at this point is subjective and this price to part ratio is a really antiquated metric to use. For me this taps into the LEGO architect line and niche. Excited for them to expand into other themes like Lord of the Rings etc. Give us a Minis Tirith, Helms Deep, Tower of Othanc/Baradur, Black Gate in this theme!

I swear every time I build a Lego set nowadays, I always discover a totally crazy and new piece. They just keep getting crazier.
I like the rebranding to the 'Starship collection' if for no other reason than there is no actual scale in place for these sets. The Death Star could have a micro build Executor with it; just as the Executor has the two micro Star Destroyers and the Tantive should be a micro scale compared to a regular Star Destroyer. Going along that logic, the Tantive is generously a single 1x1 tile next to the Executor set.
Been really enjoying all of the March reviews each day! Can't wait for the Millennium Falcon tomorrow! Keep up the great work!
I think it's disappointing lego did not give us easy access to that section with Princess Leia, R2-D2, and C-3PO. I wonder if there would be a way to modify that so you could see it. I might get it sometime to see if I can modify it without compromising the design.
Beautiful set the white and red color really pops when sitting on the shelf... I love looking at mine, it's way more bigger and impressive in person 😎

This is why i always come to your channel for reviews , straight and honest , before i give my Visa card a work out . The Falcon is the set i am waiting for you to review considering the UCS version , which i cherish , was the set that started this Lego madness in my house and never looked back .

Its interesting because Royal Caribbean did something similar by releasing model cruise ships that you can purchase for each ship you sail on. The starship collection from LEGO reminds me of this concept even though RC is more personal.

This set would be great if you also have the Comic-Con Nebulon-B Frigate set. They should do the entire rebel fleet in midi-scale!

For me the Tantive IV is my favourite ship in Star Wars so I'm getting it -- pre-ordered. I like the easter eggs but, the actual model (and previous Tantive IV) had three escape pods missing -- two on the port side forward and the one on the starboard side. So if you want accuracy you'll have to remove two more.
Too bad about the stickers -- they should be prints for that price. And I have to see I can add my Star Wars poster to the inside of the cockpit (look it up).
I'm interested.. how does it look like next to the Imperial Light Cruiser?

No one is going to turn a HUGE corporate around, it is more difficult than to manipulate a spaceship.
I honestly love these new nano-scale ships, specially as more and more of my space is being taken by Harry Potter and Castle (two themes I like a lot more than Star Wars, specially as of late). It's good to have these small display sets to keep around.
I would also prefer that these adult-oriented sets all had prints as well.
I hope they keep doing these and also do it for the more common ships (Star Destroyer, TIE-Fighter, X-Wing etc).
They have a star destroyer and the x wing and tie fighter already have smaller versions
@@erverd8401 No. They have the SUPER Star Destroyer. Not the Star Destroyer. It's not the same ship. And there's a colossal difference between a small play set and these nano-scale display sets.

I WAS looking forward to having this together with the Hallway Scene in addition to the big Escape Pod from a few years ago, but I agree, it's rediculously over priced. Can't wait to hear your Review of the $85 10-inch Falcon.
I am probably going to buy the Tantive IV hallway set, primarely because of Vader and Antillis
on the subject of figures, I feel like it'd be kind of lame to add them at least on the sets we got. The only one I can kinda see working with a figure is the Invisible Hand, giving us Grievous or Palpatine. But the others would just come with Leia and Han, figures we get so many of so often
I truly don’t understand the minifigure mafia. In my mind minifigs are for play, not for display. If these midi scale and ucs sets didn’t come with minifigs I wouldn’t care one bit
Because of a prise I would give 9/10. Its really my favourite one from the starships collection.
If they continue this line next year, the venador would be a perfect one for the ros 20 year but what other ships could they do ?

Price consideration aside, do you think this set could bring about a potential Consular-class or Clone Wars Republic Frigate to the Starship Collection? I would prefer the return of plays-scale versions, but I'd be happy with display ones.

Should have a Bail Organa minifigure. Unfortunately the Tantive IV is my second favorite SW ship behind the Naboo starfighter so I already pre-ordered

The price is interesting, in Australia the official Lego website has the Invisible Hand at 90 Aud and the Tantive IV at 100 AUD.

If I didn't own the plaset-size ship, I might have gotten this. I probably will get two of the hallways and just reverse the build order on one side so it's one long, sleek hallway.

... After my cat smashed my original Tantive IV when it was displayed on the cabinet. So I sold it all off with bits everywhere and half built? I'm definitely getting this version without a shadow of a doubt but I'm just not sure if I'm actually going to build it though?!

I love the model except for the stickers and the 12x3 wedge plates they used in the central section- those look way too flat compared with the diagonal fins they're supposed to represent.
Regardless, the price is way too high.
The so-called Easter Egg reminds me of my Least Liked scene in Rogue One, just gotta cram that R2 & 3PO into the scene saying the Ship they should already be inside inside the big ship is leaving for the battle, so there's no reason they'd still be in the Yavin base.

i was sure they'd print all the 2x4 tiles at the back... i love this set but it's a hard sell at the asking price. fortunately it's already on sale at many retailers' sites despite having been released yet,
I wonder at what price point would LEGO put all printed tiles and additional printed detailing for the cockpit for this set?
I thought the Tantive IV would be to scale with the mini imperial Star Destroyers from the executor, I guess not.
You know, if Lego REALLY doesn’t want to print on those grey or white bricks, they could just make them clear instead of having the colors not match.
I’d still prefer prints, but it would at least be better than what we have right now.

I will be getting this, most likely as part of my annual May the Fourth purchase, just because I am admittedly too lazy to be looking every week on the off chance that it will be on sale someplace. But I have to agree, that price point is obnoxious. By the piece count, it's at least $10 too much, and given that they have nothing but printed parts on their new Falcon, they've got no excuse for not giving this the same treatment.
Probably my favorite midi set except for the super star destroyer. Shame it’s so expensive, I’ll never understand how they can price sets this size anymore than like $30-$40

Its difficult to justify the price when there are some really nice sets around that price and they include minifigures
I like how it looks (not a fan of stickers in general but it is what it is) but the cost of it versus the piece count isn't worth it. I'll hold off until either I have enough points to knock off $50 or it goes on clearance at Walmart.
