That hairstyle was a problem for Lemieux. Every time Golovkin landed a jab Lemieux's hair flew around, accentuating the power he was being hit with, which has to have an effect on the judges scoring the fight.
You can see this commonality in all great fighters. Concentration. To consistently succeed at a high level one must, always, maintain focus and remain calm. One mistake, one let down of any kind against top caliber fighters will cost you the match.

On behalf of all Canadians, I apologize for Lemieux’s haircut. Sometimes if you fall asleep in the woods a randy moose will lick your head clean. Clearly, Lemieux woke up 2/3 of the way through that process. Sorry.
My compatriot David Lemieux has all the courage in the world, and formidable power, but everything was going too fast for him that night. There are many levels in boxing, and Golovkin was many levels ahead of David. With that said, the title is a tad misleading. Lemieux never taunted Golovkin or disrespected him. He knew the task in front of him was colossal
From what I saw and heard, there was no disrespect, or intentions of it. The title of this video was embellished for clickbait. I had never seen or heard of either fighter, I just ran across this video. The Canadian put up a good fight. He just needs a little more time and to acquire a little more speed and experience, from the best I could tell. Golovkin already had all of that, and knew what he was doing.
I agree with you, phazonclash - I didn't see any unpleasantness from David Lemieux. Some of the commentary was a bit silly, claiming the Canadian was about to collapse while he was actually taking the fight to GGG (who was a brilliant boxer). It's not surprising many boxers avoided him. Credit to David for taking on the challenge! Regards from Blighty :).
The title is pure clickbait, like many others on CZcams these days (I wish CZcams would do something about them). Lemieux never taunted Golovkin at all, in fact he was very respectful even though totally outclassed. I applaud him.
The title of this video is a pile of hooey. Lemieux knew exactly what he was in for. He lacked the confidence to deliver his powerful punches. GGG was too much boxer for him BUT it was a tremendous learning opp for Lemieux, for sure. He has nothing to be ashamed of.

Triple G was calm, collected and relatively gentle in this fight, compared to the devastation he's capable of meting out to his opponents. The man is out to win the match, not hurt his opponent. That liver hit was his trade mark.
