    One can tell Trevor Horn & Morley really enjoy reliving there Art Of Noise recording days, Horn gets really upbeat (no pun intended) and playful when trying to describe the creativity & oddness of that band. Morley aswell, I can hear him laughing in the background when Horn try’s his best to describe Art Of Noise😂, Morley is 110% percent correct with AON as the house band to create the sound of ZTT Label. Art Of Noise is to ZTT records as is The Funk Brothers are to Motown Record’s, AON is that important!!!

    The most amazing thing about this video is that Trevor still has his hair!! Thanks for uploading.

    Still adore the sweeping, opulent sound he had in the 80's. Really an 80's icon; ZTT with it's synths going wild, big dreams, and big ideas. Great Times.

    Two of my all time musical heroes in the same room, chewing the fat over what was, arguably, their finest hour. I'd love to see the complete interview if that was at all possible.

      @disc_oidal This may be 5 years old but I've only just seen it and as the person who filmed this and edited it to the length I was asked by the record label then I guess I might be the moron. But since I've been called that by someone who writes "I've seen no link" when there's a link in the copy immediately under the video then maybe I don't have anything to worry about.
      Don't be an arsehole, it's an easy rule to follow in life.

    Wish they could have explored more of how Trevor got the idea for AON from working with Anne and Gary to produce Macolm McLaren's NYC hip-hop foray: Buffalo Girls, Duck Rock.
    Trevor produced the most innovative aspects of those early McLaren conceptual projects. McLaren is an impressario and not a musician, so Trevor and his crew really had the run of the studio when editing and laying down a framework for the album.
    It seems to have also influenced doing Grace's album as a conceptual album but this time based on an actual Washington D.C. go-go music band as the center-point.

    The date of this clip is only a couple of days away from his late wife's death. Perhaps this is why the interview is short.

    • @timchipping
      @timchipping Před 3 lety +2

      It was filmed some time before Jill's passing. The interview was very long. I spent all day filming with Trevor and then Anne. But they were commissioned as short promotional pieces for the RSD boxset rather than as a longform interview.

      @Leah Pullen Sorry, that was a reply to the person who wrote: "the person(s) responsible are either complete morons, evil, or trying to sell a product (I've seen no link but there is a chance of them being idiots and morons, the two not being mutually exclusive)."
      So they were suggesting there was no link to the product. Which there was. I can't comment on whether I'm a complete moron or not.
      I promise to post a much longer edit on my channel. But it won't be for a while as I'll have to reassemble it all from scratch. But if you follow me there it will appear eventually.

      @@timchipping Tim, fine sounding sentiments from them except the one thing Jill wasn't was financially or legally "naive". Please.

      Good news: the two former Propaganda ladies, Claudia and Susanne, have joined their efforts in xPropaganda and released a new album yesterday, called 'The Heart Is Strange'. Not a bad album, after all these years.
