- Many of the nation’s papers have described Rishi Sunak’s July 4 election announcement as a “gamble,” as Britons finally have a date to head to the polls.
Several publications point to the Tories trailing Labour by 20 percentage points as a sign a change of government is all but certain, however others stress the pressure is now on Sir Keir Starmer’s party.
Founder of Conservative Home Tim Montgomerie joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

Starmer's wife, Victoria is Jewish and has family in Israel children are being raised ‘to recognize the faith’ of their grandfather’s family; wants to ‘make up for lost ground’ between party and Jewish community.
Starmer said “Israel has the right to defend herself,” and “do everything it can to get those hostages back safe and sound”. At least 150 hostages seized by Hamas terrorists are now being held in Gaza.
The Labour leader, who offered unequivocal support for Israel at the party conference earlier this week, also expressed “deep concern” for his extended family, who are in Israel.
Keir Starmer’s wife, Victoria, is Jewish and has family living in Israel. Stamer told LBC they “have a deep sense of shock at what is happening”. He continued: “I’ve never known a time of such incredible anxiety”.
He also shared that he has seen “first-hand” the effects which the conflict is having on Jewish Communities in the UK. “We stand by our Jewish communities here,” he told LBC, “and we stand by Israel internationally”.
“[Antisemitic] attacks are not a one-off,” he said. His comments came after the Community Security Trust reported that antisemitic incidents in the UK have trebled since Hamas began their attacks.
Keir Starmer reinforced his support of Jewish communities in the UK and Israel in a meeting with the Chief Rabbi, Sir Ephraim Mirvis, today. Emphraim Mirvis thanked the Labour leader for his “unequivocal support” of the Jewish community, which he described as a “source of great comfort”.

Well, the problem is that they do vote and other Brits are collectively too lazy to do so. You can hardly complain when GB is turning into an Islamist caliphate. Vote, or stop whinging.

Dunno but don't believe the polls. Polls are manipulated deliberately, so the lazy voters can't be arsed to vote they think Labour are home & dry. My guess is that lots of independent seats, Reform will be lucky to get one seat. Greens, Libdems will do ok. It's not a foregone conclusion.
Polls are fixed, never accurate.

We just had 6 years of a Labor government in New Zealand and they did the usual Labor thing, destroyed the economy, caused racial division as much as possible, let in loads of foreigners, imposed a fake pandemic on us with lockdowns, destroyed businesses, caused massive inflation, supported and promoted wierd sexual deviations most people don't want to hear about, they borrowed too much money and the biggest crime was they didn't build hardly any new homes when we actually need at least 500,000. If you want the Islamic State of the UK, vote for Labor or Conservative or the Greens.
