    Thank you!!! I have a newer model from 2017/18, but these instructions worked like a charm. And thank you to whoever commented about running a tub clean cycle more often to avoid the issue in the first place ( or at least extend the time between cleanings).

    not.to bad of a unit to work on...i love it...i just bought a LG-WM3677HW for 100 dollars...replaced the bearings and front part of the tub with oring..so i put about 100 dollars into it...while i had it apart i went over everything ...you can use a toilet brush to clean out the dryer tube...works well.....unclamp the bottom of the heat tube a d let all the lint be forced out with the toilet brush......awesome washer i love it.....peace.i4i.

    Thank you for this video - but I want to say I only used this part one video to get it open and I hand cleaned and stuck a plastic toothed drain cleaner gizmo (like you pull hair out of drains, get at the hardware store) and got out quite a LOT of old wet fluff. This was so super easy so anybody that feels maybe they can't do this #2 part - which is more complicated- you can get a lot if not ALL with just the part one video and a plastic drain cleaner thing

      Adding it still would not dry 😡 so got the repair tech out who DID take the back off and found a tiny bit of lint and decided that was the problem and left. Got him coming out again and will make him wait until it works. I sure thought that big bunch of lint I cleared out was the trouble.

    Great video, I have the same machine. I have the same machine, but mine had a 5 year extended warranty. Every 6 months, I'd have the LG guy come over to clean it. Now that my extended warranty is past, I do the cleaning myself and noted this:
    If you do a tub clean, like... after everytime you do a normal wash - I haven't had to take it apart. Tub cleaning actually works, but you gotta stay on top of it.
    Normal wash/dry cycle - tub clean

      +MusicMusicMusic no beach. Tube is stainless steel, so it kinda stays clean by itself:)

    Any idea on how to change the light in the front of this machine. I cant get the rubber in the front part that holds the light bulb off to unplug the bulb.🤔🤔 i have unit WM3997HWA

    Hi Leo, have the same unit. Have you ever had an error code where the drum cannot spin, which stops the wash cycle early in the process?

    Great video, this solved the issue with my LG washer dryer, was showing the error dhe

    I have one of these and I had to replace a drain pump twice and just recently the dryer overheated during a drying cycle and a wire burned inside the machine. All because of lint clogging up the machine

    Would the lint not being cleaned also affect the machines ability to dry clothes? I just moved into an apartment with this washer/dryer and I find that takes a really long time to dry clothes, even if it’s just underwear and socks. Would appreciate any help!

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 9 měsíci

      Lint is exactly the problem that causes clothes not to dry properly. Clean the air duct and it should work fine... For a while

    what does it mean when display on LG combo unit lights up but has no words just blue screen also big knob doesn't light up and door won't lock

  • @fleeced
    @fleeced Před 7 lety +3

    That's crazy - you have to do that just to clean the lint out? I was considering the washer/dryer combos, but I'll stick to individual units.

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 7 lety +1

      +fleeced well this unit is not.for homes with plenty of space... But if you are space constrained like i was ( living in 750 s.f. condo ) this is a life saver...
      And cleaning lint once a year is worth the convenience

    • @fleeced
      @fleeced Před 7 lety +1

      Yeah, I get that it's for space. Was looking at having a combo in the granny flat (have separate units in main house). But the granny flat will have to do with just a washer and hope for good wether (or use dryer up here).
      Cleaning didn't look that simple. It actually looked quite fiddly.
      Thanks for the video though - wasn't meaning to diss your work.

    Hey so since there's no Lint Trap, how can you clean lint out? What can you do for maintaining less lint or any other tips? Like best way to hook drain to the sink of apartment?

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 8 lety

      best way to prevent lint is to remove most of lint / hair off your clothes BEFORE you wash them

    • @donkocielko556
      @donkocielko556 Před 8 lety

      remove the top and blower fan cover you will find large amount of lint in the duct and around blower area. I also found lint stuck inside of the drain pump motor. there also will be loads of lint in between the two drums. you would run machine empty on sanitize mode or a clean cycle but nothing in it. or take about 4 hours and remove drum with holes from outer drum would be best and fastest .

    Dude! CD means “cool down” and is NOT an error message

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 5 lety

      Phil, I know Cd means cool down. However on the video is already recorded and I don't have this machine anymore as we moved. So at this point I just hope this video will be helpful to other people who still have this machine.

    Cd code is cool down

  • @aet9rat6
    @aet9rat6 Před 9 lety +2

    Did you say your getting an error code CD? Mine has a code CD when after the drying cycle is done it is telling me that it is cool down. So it tumbles around and when I remove the clothes they are not damp at all. And wrinkle free.

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 9 lety

      ***** - After repair (removing a LOT of lint), my says CD, but does not go away, and i can't open the door - I have to turn off the machine, wait few minutes and then I can open it.
      Clothes are usually not damp

    • @eAGer4
      @eAGer4 Před 8 lety +1

      +Remodeling Calculator CD means Cool Down process is running, The clothes tumble every 5 mins or so and the heat is dissapated. If your clothes arent dry maybe there are too many clothes, or you could run the 'dryer only' a bit longer

    You should probably correct the title to LG DRYER LINT REMOVAL: WHY LG DOESN'T DARE CONNECT CUSTOMERS TO ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT DEPARTMENT? What you are saying is that this LG unit has to be the worst designed unit on the market, with a lint removal procedure as complex as this?
    I assume if there was something one could put in the empty-cycle to get rid of this lint, or if just running an empty cycle should do the job, LG wouldn't have had to curtail technical support for this unit?
    I wonder if the decision to keep a lint filter out of this unit was INTENTIONAL?

    • @amandaripanykhazova1798
      @amandaripanykhazova1798 Před 4 lety

      Oh and one other thing: Having successfully cleaned out 200-300 cycles worth of int which was completely stopping my dryer from drying, THE REPAIR ONLY LASTED A MONTH or ABOUT 8 CYCLES! The same problem came back.

    • @gardener4892
      @gardener4892 Před 4 lety

      @@amandaripanykhazova1798 thanks for the warning - I just cleaned out my DILs machine and the design on this is outrageous! especially for the price. There was a dry vent in place so she could have gotten a different machine. This thing is awful - even the tiny, built-in lint filter is difficult .
      but hahahah - she wanted to call service and I said let me look at youtube!! I hate to see a dime going into this thing for service.

      What is the most "useful" part? I may still have the original footage - if I do, I can upload it. Just need to know which part you need
