- On the road to Ashton-under-Lyne. To visit The Tameside Stadium home of Curzon Ashton FC. Both of us unbeaten at the start of the season. That is till today, Curzon are still unbeaten after beating us 1-0. In a game where we had plenty of the ball but it was mainly from side to side and not much penetration into the box. My fear was they’d get the goal to take the lead and sit right behind the ball. That they did and did it well.
Last 20 mins or so, the pitch had that much water on it, that it didn’t help either side. I say that, it helped Curzon as Scunthorpe couldn’t create the chances they needed to. Would have been sensible to take the players off the pitch and let it drain away a little. What do I know though 🤷🏻♂️
Take nothing away from Curzon though, they deserved the win and the pitch looked like a carpet. Yes its disappointing to lose, lets not get downhearted though, were 5 games in. Still a long wa to go. Luckily we have a chance to right some wrongs on Monday against Scarborough. Lets get behind them and keep believing 💪🏼 #UTI
Fair play to the linesman for making it through that weather 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t want to have been stood in it 😂😂
650 scunthorpe fans out of 850 at an away game is crazy 😂
We had more fans at Rushall last week too than home fans. Think it may happen a few more times this season too.
@@ScunthorpeUnited yeah same with us in NLS, I still think you’ll win the league comfortably. Hopefully we (Torquay) see you back in the NL next season 👍🤝

Waterlogged pitches & Iron matches are seemingly going together quite nicely. On a more serious comparison this game carried on to the final whistle, whereas the match at Glanford Park got abandoned during stoppage time a couple of weeks later. Same circumstances, where the weather closed in big time with about quarter of an hour remaining, rapidly saturating the playing surfaces, but very different outcomes to the way they got handled by officialdom. Bizarre!
Wish you'd have caught that Denton mid-air back heel, very similar to Jordi Alba's pass to Messi last night!
Yes would have been good to see again 👍🏼
Great vid ,Glad to see un balanced and fair vlog , as a Curzon fan extremely happy with the win Thought we were disciplined with the performance. Fair play to the following Scunny brought. The weather was atrocious at the end . Apparently the ref wanted the game to stop for 30 mins but both managers said play it to the end, and that favoured up. All the best see you in Feb.
Always try and tell it how I see it. Yes I’d heard that our manager wanted to carry on. Definitely favoured you in the end. As I feel it could have been abandoned especially with that other deluge 10 mins or so after the final whistle. It is what it, luckily we have a chance to go again so soon after with Scarborough visiting us.
Good luck with the rest of the season and see you in Feb 👍🏼👏🏼
Spot on with your comments about the first goal being key, especially if you're lacking a bit of creativity for whatever reason! Expect a lot more of the same! As I said last week about Rushall, a few small clubs up a level above where they probably should be given the lack of a fanbase being based in areas where there are a lot of clubs!
We will get back to winning ways against Scarborough. UTI ⚒️ ⚒️
Here’s hoping, be a tough test today.
When we (Exeter) lost to Cousin Ashley in the FA cup in 2008 we went on to get promoted so maybe a good sign😉
The sort of game where you missed Cal Roberts trickery to open up the defence. I think you'll have lots of that this season, with teams parking the bus. Need to find a solution or more points get dropped. Great following again 👏
Gareth Curzon are a good side and hard to beat. Always RING younger people they do not think practically!
They should have stopped for 20 minutes
Is that Sembie-Ferris chant to the tune of HeartBeat? That's awesome! Anyone able to let me know the words?
“Dion, Sembie - Ferris runs down the wing for me’
@@beckywustrack6087 Thank you 😊
That weather! Must have been August Bank Holiday! Not too worried about this. A defeat by a narrow margin (1-0) away from home and in appalling conditions. Just need to make sure tne Scarborough game is a win.
Was only appalling conditions for last 20 or so. So can’t really blame the weather for the loss. Is what it is and as you say hopefully win tomorrow.
Was it that bad Gareth? Saw some of your lads on our way to Hyde.
The weather was atrocious. Im guessing it wasn’t bad in Hyde lol As for the game they took the lead and defended well, we just couldn’t break them down. Fair play to them, thats the game 👏🏼👏🏼
Cant believe that game wasnt postponed....
Even just to take the teams off and see if it drains away 🤷🏻♂️ Is what it is, they were the better team. So take nothing away from them. We learn from it and move on 👍🏼
How that wasn't called of that's just crazy 😮 great vlog tho pal. Keep up the good work
Cheers Wayne 👏🏼
Didn’t film your spectacular header though before game hahah
Haha we all know it would have hit me full on in face if I had 🤣😂🤣
That pitch looked unplayable in the latter part of the match.
Bad loss for yous there is a long way for you to go and Scarborough is also a hard fixture as they challenge for playoffs
Yes, looking forward to the game tomorrow. Hopefully be a good crowd down at Glanford Park for it. I’d like to think we right some wrongs from yesterday. They’ll be buzzing from a 93rd min winner too. As you say, will be a hard fixture.
See you tomorrow 🌊🐶❤️
Getting on vlog? You can give me a score prediction 👏🏼👏🏼
@@ScunthorpeUnited I’ll be around not sure we are allowed in iron bar though someone said on police advice
Well…CAFC seem to be well regarded.
Just one of those games, move on and chalk it down to experience.
It’s gonna happen like that from time to time.
Marathon not a sprint.
At least you got to see that ref. Must’ve been a real highlight as a fan!
Don’t panic, stick together move on!
Yes they did well, as you say we move on. We were never going to go through the season undefeated, it’s how we bounce back now. Luckily we have the chance to do that sooner, rather than later. Be a tough test against Scarborough though. Have to stay switched on to the end, as they’ve had 2 last minute winners now this season.
Should have called off the match...
