Robben and Buzzy have the perfect blend of soul, phrasing, technique, and feel. Probably my 2 biggest influences. Thanks for the video!

Great stuff & Buzz has always been my favorite musician following him since he was a 17 year old in Butterfield Blues Band his work with Felix Cavaleri on Rascals Isle of Real Stevie Wonders first band & of course Full Moon / Larsen / Feiten band & his brilliant work with Dave Weckl just genius

I liked those RF days. Loved that guitar, the chords (!), the jazz licks. And... the shit rocked pretty hard!

Recorded at a great period for Robben and The Blue Line. Still miss seeing this well-matched trio 'live', including performances at NAMM. Thanks for the share.

Nice! I’ve seen nearly all eras of Robben live since 1973. The Blue Line stuff is some of my favorite. Was fortunate to see that group live 4 times early in their run 1990-93 ish, three times at Slims in SF and once in Santa Monica. So on fire. Caught them once near their end -1997ish at the original Yoshis in north Oakland. Still wonderful that night but more laid back.
Robben’s great in this performance. Wanna say he’s more on it here bc he’s playing to musicians/music industry types. But he was always very on back then, plenty of jazzy things still informing his blues…more so than in recent years imho. He’s remains a very fave guitarist.

Left my SuperVHS camcorder in the car that night. I thought they'd be checking at the door, and the camera was HUGE, but nobody was even looking. Good to see somebody filmed it, though mine would have been better quality.

Oops camera guy doesn't understand who is soloing. Definitely not a musician.
