@@FatalShotGG chill out bro jeez
@@FatalShotGG 34 likes now..umm, just a sec. Make it 35
Even if something is mass produced, there's no denying the behind-the-scenes effort involved. Each product, no matter how standardized, required meticulous design and the dedicated work of skilled individuals on the assembly line...
@FatalShotGG bro he got 54 likes and also hes just saying facts
One of these games was used as a prop in the movie "Dave," about 1996 with Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Dave was a D.C. temp agency owner who impersonated the President. This was one of the games in the White House. Dave's game was powered by a crank, and rang a bell when the race was won.
Dave was a great movie.. Kevin Klein was a great actor... He should have been in many more movies...
I was just thinking of that movie!
Beautiful job😮
Blast from the past 🎬🎞👍👌
Love that movie
It is hard to imagine it nowadays with all our technology and plastics and throw-away society- but just picturing a child getting this as a gift back "in the day"- it must have been amazing.
Bright colors, shiny metal, heavy, multiplayer, a mechanism that makes the horses absolutely fly around the track, betting against your friends... I bet this was a favorite toy for many years.
🐎🎠🎠👍🏻🙏🏼
This is not a toy , most probably an antique item , for a collection .
I don't think it was a children's toy, but more a gambling game for a bar, likely to try to get free drinks.
And the winner is…us!
For witnessing such an amazing restoration!
Great job!
I thought I was going to skip around but this was absolutely transfixing. What an excellent restoration

First time I haven't skipped in a video like this! 👍
It actually locked me in. Hahaha
you start to watch thinking how tedious it would be to have to do that only to blink and 21 minutes have passed.
That simple repair for the jockey using the two part putty as a mold blew my mind. By far my favorite restoration yet! Outstanding craftsmanship
An Antique Lover, an Artist, a Machinist, and an Appreciator of a Time That Once Was - all rolled into one. Excellent!! Thank You!!
Never knew I liked antique restoration, looks like a great hobby.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle! Yo Joe!🫡
Looks like a great Hobby not to mention that it seems like it could be very profitable! This looks like it can be sold to a collector for a very high value
@@GSR8GHOST I would never make any money on these. I wouldn't be able to part with any of them.
@@MrTrashcan1I always thought like that but if someone offered me 10k on this I would say bye bye to those horses in a heartbeat
@@buborcc Can't argue with that.
Now that's the way to make a video, no screaming, no talking, no annoying music, no mugging for the camera, short, sweet and to the point. I have subscribed.
…isn’t that just your preference in video?as long as it’s on tape…
Ew the music actually makes me sane and this makes me crazy
Then don’t watch if you can’t appreciate his work
I was surprised by the easy disassembly, and I love your attention to detail on the repaint. Absolutely gorgeous restoration, and I love your videos!
It still amazes me how you know how to take each piece apart, much less how to re-assemble. Beautiful work!
this restoration process has really brought back life to this racing game - absolute magic
The objects you restore are amazing, man, I had no idea this existed, but it looks fun! Awesome restoration as always!
The speed of the horses had me laughing out loud! I was afraid they'd go flying off. 😄 Great job !
I could never trust myself enough to take something apart, much less restore it to a better state. Impressive.
I know. I could take it all apart and then look at it and say, impossible.
My husband is a former jockey. This was my favorite restoration ever! 😊
This was a beautiful restoration, and I think good call on the brass cup, really draws the eye. The simplicity of the mechanism is really a show, I think it would be very cool to have one of these
That's exactly why he shouldn't have done brass, you want the horses to be the center of attention with all their color. Not the dang pot you put the money/bets in. Should have done chrome
He had the nickel finish for other pieces, I am with you. But really, outstanding job!!!
Such a fun game! I loved playing this as a kid. My great grandpa had one in his den. We used to play while he told me stories about his life and adventures on the railroad. Beautiful restoration thank you for the wonderful memories.
I hope the new owners get another 100 years of enjoyment out of it. Wonderful restoration. Any collector would love to have this piece.
I'm blown away with the attention to detail such an amazing restoration you sir are by far my favourite restoration content creator thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos
Thank you very much 👌😉
@@OldThingsNeverDie-Seeing as you did such a great job restoring it but went down to the brass instead of re-coating the chrome, I'm guessing that's a pretty difficult and demanding process. Would an electron sputtering machine be capable of putting down a good enough layer or would it just be too soft especially for a coin dish?
I love the amount of love and dedication you show on these restorations!
Tolle Restaurierung, bitte weiter so.
This person is an absolute master of his craft. He is also a perfectionist. I sat here watching the entire video and was transfixed at his artistry. Thank you for posting this incredible restoration.
I get overwhelmed watching you take it apart you're amazing that you can put it all back together
Beautiful work. I love how you show every item you restore with respect. I think it looks better than it did when it was new.
What a funky, elaborate old piece. I love that you restores these cool old things!
The original inventor was amazing! But I am just as amazed by your restoration!👏
My wife has no interest in renovation vids and even she was impressed with how well this turned out, a beautiful job.
Perfect channel for those who don't want to go insane from another post-covid relapse. My sanity is restored, thank you!
You have a serious gift. This isn't just restoration, it's art. Magnificent!!!!!
What an amazing transformation you did. Never seen such a game, but you brought it all back to life again. Thumbs Up!
I love that these are vintage toys headed for the trash heap! Wonderful work making it look authentic!
The way you are so careful and precise with this piece makes me so happy. It looks amazing by the way!!
The games of old may lack the razzle dazzle of modern games, but the mechanical engineering involved is truly impressive.
I love in particular that you do a lot of old games, more than most of the other channels. Mixes my interests in such a glorious way, and makes watching your vids an automatic click. Beautiful work dude.
my favorite bits of these kind of restorations are people figuring out how the mechanisms work! neat machine.
This is some amazing work. But one think i always find tricky when watching restoration videos is how much is too much. At what point is it no longer the original and at what point is too much of its history lost. When you look at it before hand, all the wear and tear, it obviously tells a story about what and how much its been used.
When the machine was first made, was it all worn??
He literally used the same nails as the original. it is a perfect restoration that honors and revives the piece
Ship of Theseus
@CWS and TKP 66-02 I don’t fully get you’re point but seems like you agree with me
This guy is legit, unlike a lot of resto ch who artificially age items for the sake of a video.
they do? havent noticed. Can you link to a good example, maybe its more obvious to me now that im aware of it
How can you tell this person isnt also doing that
What a magnificent piece! The person who designed this was a genius.
I put this on specifically because I thought it would be boring but I now I can't stop watching. This person is clearly expert; it is satisfying to watch him do all the things so well
The amount of work, and effort you put into these restorations never fails to amaze me. Your uploads always make my day, thank you!
I just wanted to write a comment here to express my appreciation for your excellent videos, as I find them outstanding, not only for the ability to restore something "old", but for the way you display your videos. For example, a great success is not to add music or elements that are distracting. The sounds of the brushes, hammers, sandpapers and other tools that you use in your restorations have something magical that relaxes a lot. Thank you very much for sharing your videos and I hope you keep doing this. For me, they´ve been an extraordinary discovery!
About the music part, i completely agree that this is an excellent choice while making the videos.
Thank you for this elaborate comment, I stand with every word you've said in appreciation of this guy's videos.
relaxed me enough to fall asleep when i wanted to actually watch it lol
Great restoration! I was thinking there was a missed opportunity to have a headless horseman.
And the winner is....US! Who got to watch such an amazing restoration. Well done
Translation:
wow, first-class restoration, respect to the master 👍
These restoration guys never cease to amaze me with their craftsmanship acumen. Every time I see the beginning of one of these videos where they show the old rusted, beat up and damaged item, all I see is garbage; while they see potential. I really wish I had the eye, understanding and capability to do these restorations; it seems like a really neat and rewarding hobby.
This was a cool restoration. I don't see any other channels doing old mechanical game restorations, it is very interesting. You could make a playlist of just those items. I thought it was brilliant how you remade the broken pieces from the horse racer!
Amazing work! So many fiddly little moving parts and you got it running perfectly!
OMG Incredible is the word! I especially loved the head and leg sculpt. And the paint! Congratulations, you do honor to this beautiful French toy! Bravo Nicolas!
We will never see the kind of craftmanship antiques have ever in the normal market again and it's sad.
I know they don't have to be that detailed, but as a miniature model painter I really wanted to get my hands on those horses haha. Great work all the same!
I have never seen this game before, but you have done a marvellous job of restoring it. I can imagine children having lots of fun playing with this at Christmas after being given it, and even the adults joining in too. It's such a worthy addition to your catalogue of restored items.
Thank you for using 99% of the original parts! It makes it much more special that way.
Great job on giving a 50+ year old game another 50+ years of life!
Amazing Craftsmanship! Was such a joy to see this classic piece getting restored to it's original glory! (Actually, better than original!)
Magnifique! Chapeau !
Que demander de mieux ? 🙂

Your attention to detail and care in the restoration process are truly stunning. Well done.
My Mom always LOVED horse racing; it’s a pity there wasn’t a game like this available back when she was alive. Have the thrill of horse racing on a rainy/stormy day and NOT have to go to the track! 😃🐎🏆
I found watching this made me emotional, we quickly discard objects because of age and wear that are true works of art. Much respect to you Sir for the amazing dedication to your craft, it was a pleasure to watch.
As an avid toy maker I find your videos incredible. I always learn something worth the time it takes to watch you work. Thankyou so much. Be well, God bless.
I don't know how long you spent resuscitating this item but I can only admire and applaud your dedication to the task and your attention to all detail. You are truly gifted
Hi. I have just dicovered your channel and find it fascinating and really relaxing to watch. The care and attention that you show is amazing - from the mechanical attention to the professionalism in audio and visual aspects of the production. I've even put some of your videos on in the background just to listen to the sounds while I've been working!
This antique was fantastic even before it was restored. What a great thing to fix.
I continue to be impressed with the level of skill you have to do these restorations. Thank you.
I love what you choose to restore, if I saw this piece in a different circumstances I would wonder how it works. This spinning mechanism that looks like someone pushed the wheel with an automation finger is simply gorgeous
You should name one of them Yeowzer, after my retired race horse! He had 79 runs and won 15 times! Made 200k, and was a fantastic racer! Retired last year and is enjoying his new job
One of the superior restorers online here; there's only a few good ones. Precision and attention to detail is what you get from this guy. I love the channel name too. Excellent work!
Such skill, patience and craftmanship. Totally mesmerizing to watch. Thank you!
Beautiful job! Love seeing restorations to old toys and games. So much character to them.
There's something precious about the love you give to abandoned things.
Guys! He touched the BUT! Gorgeous restoration as always! lovely to see old things get the love they deserve anew
Oh my gosh what an awesome piece to restore! Absolutely brilliant. Looks li,like, it was fun to do. Thanks for sharing
It's always amazing to watch a real craftsman restoring something to new condition. Thanks for posting!
Wow this is amazing to watch. I appreciate how much energy you put in these restaurations. Also this is an incredible piece of a mechanical toy
Your skill and attention to detail is excellent it's very satisfying seeing an old antique game like this get restored so you could see what it would of been like back then a little time traveling
This was probably my favorites only because it worked like new in the end with so many parts! You are one talented guy! ❤️❤️❤️
I must say, this was pretty awesome! Perfect object and perfect restoration. But your audio is a secret hero of the video. Very nice overall package
You should always twist a jump ring or chain and never pull it apart. 10:40
I love this game, it reminds me of the one at the amusements ❤😊
That was a delight watching this restoration from it’s aged original piece to its new and refreshed look 👍😊
Yours are my favorite of all the restoration videos out there. You add such a unique charm, and do an incredible job. Always look forward to what cool new thing you're going to find and restore next.
There are very few restorations I've enjoyed as much as this one. Awesome work. 👏👏👏
I don't really care about whether you "ruined" the value, like many people are choosing to argue about in the replies. I think you showed attention to detail, and the finished product looks great. Definitely does not look like a cheap toy, and if you're happy with the outcome then it doesn't matter what others think. It's a beautiful restoration/renovation, and shows the craftsmanship that you were able to put into it! Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it!
absolute amazing to see how this nice game works correctly! Nice restauration. Thanks for showing us that!
What an amazing restoration! I love your attention to detail. I also love this object, I never knew such a game existed. I think I would have had a lot of fun playing with this as a kid, and I definitely would have given names to all the horses 😀
Excellent work dude 👏👏👏. Skills and techniques used is extremely impressive, as is the obvious amount of patience you have to achieve the finished standard. Also, you did a great job showing everything you did whilst keeping the length of the vid down to like, 20mins. But honestly, I could've easily watched 40mins+ of you working your magic 😁. Thanks man 🙏. 😎
Refreshing to see a genuine restoration where it hasn’t been deliberately buggered up first.
I vaguely recall a game like this described in an old Stephen King book called "Needful Things" It was "Magic" and could predict winning horses at real time races or something like that. Cool antique, cool video :)
Beautiful restoration. Really loved the way you assembled as you went along. Wonderful work!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I tip my hat to your skill and dedication towards the finished product, it's better than new. What's more is I've never seen one of those toys in my 60 plus years, but upon a time some youngster sure received a great present there.
I would have adored this if I ever saw one as a kid, thank you for restoring such a cool thing!
This is the only form of "asmr" I can watch confortably. Incredible restoration
Same the rest just seems unsettling
