I agree. I myself am Catholic.... and if Christ was with mary magdaline, would it really be that bad?
it's a great novel, with amazing characters and a plot like no other. it's simply thrilling.

as a matter of fact, the story quite literally said it's not Opus Dei or the Church, it's an ancient council of shadows with people in high ranking positions...

the things that they are saying, we read it in the book (Da Vinci's codes) The movie is just too short to cover everything.

Why would anyone fear a movie?
If God is on your side, what is there to fear?

If the DaVinci code is fiction then i have several questions. Why the Vatican will not release the third secret of Fatima ? Why the Vatican will not open the doors of their secret library ? Why the Vatican denies the Templar massacre ? Why the Vatican denies keeping people in the dark concerning heaven ?

i dont get it...people say "i think its not true" or "i think its true", when its a historical fact. just go look the information up for yourself, or if you're to lazy watch "Beyond the Da Vinci Code" even though thats barely a justification for the topic.

Da Vinci Code is a very well-written fiction that aims to portray (in addition to many other things) human wisdom and fallen nature alike. I am a Christian and i don't find the movie offensive to watch; in the Bible, Christ is declared both as the Son of God and Son of Man, after all.

they also say that the things in this movie (like the self pain bit performed by the monk) is grossly exaggerated... well yeah?! duh!! it's a movie!!!!!

Offcourse he did his work well, he must have laughed all the way to the bank.
As for why people think stories as facts, well, Joseph Carroll gives a good take on that in "the human revolution and the adaptive function of litterature" as does Claude Lévi-Strauss in "Myth and meaning" I particulair want to stress the second part and the educational form myths and histories have in 'primitive' cultures. That it has such a success doing the same here, just shows that we are not that different.

i don't know about ablino activists, scientist1992, but i also think that it is just another coinkidink that silas is evil and albino. i know that there are several characters in stories and films that have albinos as crazy evil murdering villians, but the thing is, in my opinoin, they use an albino to make the villian seem different or stand out. also, because they look a little different, it might be easier for the viewer to recognise and remember the character.

The Opus Dei numerary is so right on the dot with explaining Opus Dei and its practices. The Da Vinci Code has made so much money on exposing fallacies against Opus Dei. That is sad. There's Hollywood for you. Christian faith is so strong. Don' be fooled by the film.
I did see the film and was disgusted with what was said about Opus Dei. Opus Dei doesn't even have any monks. This is sensationally portrayed and false. Unless you've practiced the ways of Opus Dei, will you know the truth.

I do believe in Jesus. And I don't really care if Jesus was married or not. The important is he really exist. And besides if he really married, well that's normal. Jesus was born into two bodies, human and as a son of GOD. In his human nature he felt passion to a woman, but he did not forget his duty.

You know what FICTION is right? It's a STORY that's not TRUE. Fiction is ENTERTAINMENT!
Why are people raising such a stink over such a small book, that's not even true?

to belive in the bible is to belive a lie
words written by men just like the lord of the rings or any other fictional book.
Christianity has only resulted in suffering for those who do not belive in the stories told in that book of theirs

  • @eduardiux007
    @eduardiux007 Před 16 lety

Da Vinci Code is a great fiction novel, but fiction nonetheless. I believe in Christ, I consider myself to be an open minded Christian... nothing on the Da Vinci code is new, the belief of Jesus being married and having children has been there for centuries, I remember being about 8 years old or younger when I first heard that from my grandma...
As to Opus Dei, well in my personal opinion they're just a bunch of elitist catholics! -Nothing wrong with that-.
