Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced the launch of their Micro SUV Hyundai EXTER in the Indian Market with the starting introductory price of Rs5,99,900/- (Exshowroom) . The buzz was created long before the launch for this new Smart compact SUV which is the strongest rival for Tata Punch. HMIL is planning to become the rank one in the SUV sales and to beat Mahindra & Mahindra which is currently crowned as number one SUV seller brand of India. The New Exter is 3815mm long and has a segment best wheelbase of 2450MM. The New Hyundai Exter will be available in 5 trims - EX, S, SX, SX(O) & SX(O) Connect the mid two variants S & SX also has a CNG option available. Hyundai Exter has all the features along with the world class safety features like 6 Airbags as standard, ABS with EBD but there are some safety features which are first in this Segment like Electronic Stability control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Programme, Hill Assist Control & Burglar Alarm. HMIL has introduced so many features which are first in segment like Wireless Charging option, Paddle Shifters, Rear AC Vents, Multi Language UI Support, On Board Navigation, Footwell LIghting, Shark Fin antenna, Dynamic rear spoiler etc. Hyundai Exter will be available with 6 Monotone Colour Options among them two colours are newly introduced - Fiery Red, Atlas White, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Cosmic Blue (New) & Ranger Khakhi (New). There are three dualtone options also available - Ranger Khakhi with Abyss Black Roof, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black Roof & Atlas White with Abyss Black Roof. Hyundai Exter has a 1.2 litres Engine which is a four cylinder Engine and better than its core rival Tata Punch which has a 1.2 litres three Cylinder Engine in it. The power of the engine will change with the Petrol & the Bi-Fuel option. We checked the Hyundai Exter and liked the refreshed design from the Front of this Small and Beautiful SUV but the Design at the C Pillar is a little unusual or could have been much better. The Space was commendable for 4 passengers and the rear seat space & thigh supports were brilliant but if you want to accommodate a third person at the second row seats for a long journey then this will make the whole journey painful for all three of the passengers. We did not get the chance to drive the Hyundai Exter so Engine performance and Fuel Mileage will be coming in our next editions.
