I never watched lupin the III but it's uncontestably based from the tip to the bottom at Cowboy Bebop

I actually researched Lupine The 3rd and, honestly, I fell in love with this anime.
It's an anime that inspired Cowboy BeBop, so the resemblance might have started right there.
Wow, you were right! I hadn't seen the opening of part IV yet, but it really had a strong inspiration in that opening.
Like, the beginning is totally inspired by Cowboy BeBop, with the newspapers in the background, so the rest of the opening mixes with Lupine The 3rd and the ending is practically the mixture of both.
And there's also Moff Gideon Cutting the screen with the dark saber.

Yeah, cara dune is fujiko haha. Basically is a parody from the intro of lupin the 3rd 2015. And i love every second of it. My two favourite series combined in anime.UwU
I think it's because the Bebop references are pretty direct. Both the music style and the box animation pattern are very similar, not to mention Bebop was a similar kind of "spaghetti western in space" as the Mandalorian.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just I can see why people are jumping to Bebop first thing, if that makes sense.
