Yeah, I'm hoping it does well and they announce a PC release, but Vanillaware has been stubborn about that in the past.
Been wanting this game since it was announced but can't due to financial reasons. Now I decide if I live vicariously through someone else or just wait. Probably wait as eventually I start acting like a sports dad and yelling at the screen "No move it to the left your totally missing them flanking you"

Alright, this one just soared to the top of my list.
I got this enormous package from Amazon yesterday and like the only thing I could remember ordering in the past while that would be that big was the UO special edition, and I became convinced they'd somehow sent it a month early and I was OBSCENELY hyped. well it was something my mom accidentally sent me so NOT QUITE lol, but it shows how excited I am for this game!!!

It definitely looks like scenes require the player to have progressed to certain cities. We might have to finish certain quests too.
I always appreciate when games can do stuff like this, it makes the world feel more naturalistic and organic.
@@borjankosarac3645 It also means that those scenes can be written with certain plot progression assumptions in mind. The conversations don't have to be something that can happen any time and anywhere.

Gonna go to the Non-Human Lands and build a truly great army.

The choice at the end is called a "Pledge of Fealty", I wonder how many, if any of them will end up being romantic in nature. But I guess we'll find out when the game comes out.
Since we also have the ring of the maid to give someone to marry them, they probably won't be. Unless you need to get to the Pledge in order to give them the ring? 🤔

@@TitaniumLegman Actually, I got to thinking, the naming theme... The Unicorn Ring, the Maiden Ring... the theme itself isn't romantic, if you think about it from a lore perspective. Like the implications of that symbolism. Like for example the French depicts the Unicorn and the Maiden as a symbol of Justice and Virtue, that if seen, the correct actions are being taken.
@@TitaniumLegman also the original conception from christianity, is the maiden is representative of the virgin Mary, and the unicorn is Jesus.
I feel better preordering this game on the PS5 instead of the Switch.

You have a weak bloodline if you don't like fish.
After multiple playthroughs of FE Three Houses my initial excitement for that game was toned down, not so much because of the map design, combat classes or battles, but more due to the big emphesis on teaching, building supports, reclassing to learn skills and all the side objectives a player might feel obliged to do in order to maximize the efficiency of their army. This new information about Unicorn Overlord makes me less excited about the game than I was initially due to similiar reasons as Three Houses.
I am more of an old school gamer, simply wanting an intriguing story and captivating gameplay focused on combat and tactics. Of course supports in Fire Emblem many times added interesting insight into the characters story but as a whole they can be a bit bland. Dont get me wrong, the food looks super tasty, the graphics are of course superb coming from Vanillaware and the item management looks a bit interesting, however I hope the experience from Three Houses does not find its way into Unicorn Overlord too much.

Hey I recently discovered your channel and I was wondering have u checked out symphony of war? its probably the closest thing to unicorn thats out right now.
I have actually played the whole thing before in my own time. I meant to play it on the channel when it came out, then I tested it... And got addicted to it.. Mans binged the whole thing in like three nights. 😅

At times like this I really regret not buying a Switch
I should really try Fire Emblem again. I picked up one, and it had a bit of fighting, then you became this teen substitute teacher or something and I got so bored so fast because I was used to Matsuno games where "babysit these children" is not more of the gameplay than the combat is.
Oh yeah, Three Houses isn't the best representative of how FE typically goes. One of the GBA or 3DS games would be a better choice. I'd recommend Sacred Stones or Awakening.
I recommend Awakening because it has difficulty settings (making life easier for new players) and at the same time standard enough to feel like the old classics.
I mean, its better than going for the old classics right of the bat and think "Hey, I'm an idiot who can't beat this with everyone alive. Now my entire army is dead and I have to restart from the beginning"
Path of Radiance is the best entry point IMO, and is also in the conversation for just being the best game. It's pretty inaccessible without emulation though.

Consoles only... I wish Vanillaware put their games on PC. I'd like to buy this game and support the devs but I'll just have to emulate the Switch version instead...

@@JF-vz1ju I don't understand why developers & publishers of tactics games just disregard the PC market. Tactics Ogre and Triangle Strategy released on PC for like 60 bucks and they did just fine.

God it's so stupid this isn't releasing for PC at all. It's getting a Switch release, meaning it's already being made for the lowest common denominator graphics and it's releasing on the Xbox Series consoles which are all but stripped down Windows PC's with tweaked OSes at this point. There is *no* legitimate reason this isn't coming out for PC beyond "F*** them PC only playes, kiss our asses-Vanillaware".
I'm a massive vanillaware fan, but I'm really not vibing with UO. It feels like they neutered the style a bit too much
I hope its not to simillar to Fire Emblem.
I don't think it will be, definitely its own sub-genre of strategy game that just has comparison points.
Looks more like Ogrebattle on super Nintendo and n64 if you've ever play those
