    I just came upon this video and really enjoyed it, yes it's a bit late but I enjoyed the speed of the instruction, it is done in a really pleasant voice..I love to hear that "I might be busy but I know where my child is, references. All my children are grown so it was nice to hear from a parent that shows caring toward their child...thank you for sharing, I did learn quite a bit..

    You can also peel the scab off the roots to make them uncover the ready roots inside the cover. Its the little dry roots that look dead on them. Pull off the scab on it.

      @billyd7628 Před rokem

      yeah its pretty neat to see the little roots, looks like the intention of the plant is for the fruit to rot or get eaten and then the top roots when it touches the ground. pretty cool way for a plant to spread itself.

    do not worry about the skins having fruit as you can use the skins, after pulling the seeds, to make pineapple juice'

    • @FunWithGardening
      @FunWithGardening  Před 8 lety +3

      The pineapple I am using is just a normal variety that you can buy in your local grocery store. It's best if you use an organic but it does not have to be organic.

    Try to avoid buying pineapple with that kind of tags they kill the top

    • @billyd7628
      @billyd7628 Před rokem

      yeah for real, every time i've tried to root a pine apple top it failed because the thing rots. then i noticed that the tag is punched into the core of the plant so no wonder they die! looks like the one i just planted only had the tag punched into one of the leaves though. so im hoping to get this one started.

    that's not the way to peel a pineapple. you're wasting a lot of flesh. Just peel thinly, then get a slicer to take off the eyes. That way, you will save a lot of your seeds.
