@@slevishame melody remained the same in the current South African anthem but the only change is the first four lines remained in that anthem as what is now the third stanza, while the new English lyrics and the music on the fourth stanza came from Die Stem’s last four lines on the first stanza used to be sung.

But apartheid failed, and that's where your "slavery" comes in. It failed because the idea was that every people would get their own nation for themselves, but these bantustans were too small to have all non-Boer people's. Mandela was born in the bantustan Transkei.

They could have just extended the life that white South Africans were enjoying to all. But no, they had to start again from zero even if they knew that will made SA worse :(
