Those Prodigy ads! Back when the Internet was new and exciting. Loved the spooky nostalgia in this installment!

Hey @ 14:15 it's Countess Vaughn the actress/star of the "The Parkers"! "The Parkers" is an American sitcom that aired on UPN from August 30, 1999, to May 10, 2004. A spin-off of UPN's Moesha ( 90s sitcom that starred singer Brandy Norwood). "The Parkers" also featured the Academy Award winning comedian/actress Mo'nique as Countess' character's mother.

That Mix 98 ad put a huge smile on my face. We had a broad diverse multi-genre adult contemporary station like that where i live. I think it was called Magic 96 or something like that.

I've worked at Walgreens since 2015 and can't believe how early they start putting out the Halloween stuff.

6:14 - Wow, the C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa. Forgot about that show. Spoiler alert: It did not become a hot ticket toy item.

11:27 - Yikes, that has to be the most unflattering picture of Fred Savage they could have taken!!

Sighting was such a creepy ass show, and likely suspects was fun, and had a nice mellow theme song.

I'm surprised they were allowed to show Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, since the film was released "unrated". When the film was submitted for a rating, the MPAA gave it an X-rating. Rather than tone it down in order to get an R, the movie was released in theaters unrated. Have to wonder how much they had to edit it in order to show it on Fox.

The movie was being aired by the local affiliate and not aired by Fox nationally. This was common in the early years of Fox when they didn't have prime time programming scheduled for every day of the week. The TV version shown here was heavily edited.

As someone who lives in Manchester NH, I've no recollection of Boston Scandals. Though funnily enough, that address is home to a rotating door of short-term business. (It was a low-rent Halloween Annex a month ago, now it's empty again)

I'm genuinely weirded out by how an extreme horror movie has "Totally for Kids" PSAs in its commercial breaks. Like, I'd guess that the thing would of been edited heavily even for night-time showings over there but this makes me wonder where in the day they showed this and just...HOW much they edited that, dang.
I also love how they credit the creation of "Cow Boys of Moo Mesa" to "the PROMOTER of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", proberbly close to one of the more uncreative elements of these things. Well, even with the great toy designs and just...amazing concept, people rarely talk about it now so that promoter didn't promote good enough. ;) No matter, great volume.

      @80sCommercialVault  Před 6 lety +3

2:00 The "Totally For Kids" things produced by Fox were most likely just something that the affiliate would play throughout the day/night, regardless of what was being shown. It doesn't mean that they were targeting TCM2 to children.

$1,146.76 adjusted for inflation, and that is per person, with a caveat that the price could be higher when flying from certain cities. All told it’s probably about the same cost today.

AND NOW BACK TO THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE..... PART II!!!! Even the voiceover is scary!
Boston Scandals - worst name for a furniture store EVAR
RIP Hervé Villechaize AND Michael Vale from the Dunkin Donuts ad!
I also had Prodigy - loved those rudimentary graphics over 2400 baud!

What's All Hallow's Eve season without some 90's nostalgia eh? I remember _all_ of these shows.
For whatever reason I hated that Simpsons episode. (Poor Lisa!) FOX was the shit back then! Now...they're just shit.

14:28 is that a stuffed Big Bird in the background? Yeah, I notice little things in the background sometimes. Sheesh. Also, why would they be showing kids stuff during "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" (part 2)
