Kathopanishad - Day 46 - Talk in English by Sw Aparajitananda, Chinmaya Mission Chicago - Yamunotri
    6th Valli of 2nd chapter
This is the last valli of Chapter 2 in the Kaṭhopaniṣad. This valli starts with a description of the Saṃsāra tree. In Chapter 15 of the Gita, the concept of the Saṃsāra tree has been taken from these shlokas. Swamiji beautifully explains the concept of this tree to help us understand:
    - Why we do not experience absolute happiness in life
    - The cause of worries, anxiety, and sorrow
    - How we mislead our minds by living in hopes of tomorrow
    - Why we feel insecure and never feel fulfilled by chasing things, beings, and situations in the outer world (the Saṃsāra)
    - How to achieve that complete fulfillment
    - Why it is essential to destroy this Saṃsāra tree
For a sadhaka who wishes to establish the right relationship with the world and God, this lecture provides contemplative directions. While explaining this verse, Swamiji, based on commentary by Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, practically explains how to see the Supreme Self in and through this perceived world. Each and every characteristic of the world has been explained to understand the fallacy of this enchanting creation and the existence of the unseen Creator, without whom the creation does not exist.
Swamiji concludes this lecture by discussing how one who doesn’t believe in the Vedas gets entangled in this Saṃsāra vruksha. In the next lecture, he will describe how one who believes in the Vedas looks at this tree.

Excellent explanation of the "Ashwath Tree."
Ashwath Tree (immortal, pure) is the support of this creation.
With branches below n root on top represent the ,Tree of transmigration.'
The outside world reveals the inner reality.
Thus creation gives the idea of creator n our true identity.
    It consists of __
All the three bodies, states of mind n four stages of evolution.
But central root (pure conciousness) is विष्णु परमं पदम् .
    Unique feature__
This unpredictable tree has no existence without the root is not seen.
Creation is seen but the creator is unseen.
Destroy the tree as attachment is the cause of sorrow.
Because of shifting goals n seeking happiness for the pleasures of tomorrow.
People who believe in scriptures n follow spiritual lineage.
Get clarity, are doubtless and they only get this knowledge.
    Regards n pranams Swamiji
