  • Welcome to a busy day of homemaking in our house. The Lord has really been working hard on me and my contentment with where I am in my life. I hope this video encourages you to remember that you are exactly where you are meant to be - Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
    Homemade Laundry Detergent
    Materials You'll Need:
    Baking soda
    3 percent hydrogen peroxide
    Borax
    Gentle dish soap
    Instructions:
Begin by boiling 8 cups of water.
Next, add 2 cups of borax and 2 cups of baking soda.
Dilute 1 cup of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide with 2 cups of water; add to mixture.
Add 2 cups of dish soap and another 8 cups of boiling water.
Once the mixture is well dissolved, you can choose to add in an essential oil (about 50 drops).
Let your homemade laundry detergent cool down to room temperature. It will thicken into a white powder consistency.
Next, store your detergent in an airtight glass jar, away from pets or children.
    Chickpea Crust Recipe
    FOR THE PIZZA BASE
⅔ cup (93 g) chickpea (garbanzo bean) flour
    ¼ cup (32 g) tapioca starch/flour
1 tablespoon dried herbs (I like a combination of oregano and basil)
    ½ teaspoon kosher salt
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¾ cup (6 fluid ounces) lukewarm water
3 tablespoons (42 g) extra virgin olive oil
½ ounce Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese grated or ground
Place a 10-inch cast iron or other heavy-bottom saucepan over medium-high heat, and add the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil. Heat the oil until rippling.
Pour in the batter and shake and spread it out into an even layer. Top with the sliced tomatoes (cut side up), shredded and/or shaved cheeses, pepper and herbs.
Cover the pan and allow the pizza to cook until set in the center and browned on the underside (5 to 7 minutes).
Uncover the pan and place under your oven’s broiler. Cook until the top is browned and bubbling (about 3 minutes).
Remove from the oven and transfer the pizza to a wire rack to cool for a moment, until the cheese sets.
Transfer the pizza to a flat cutting surface, slice it into 6 pieces and serve warm.

These comments are driving me nuts! Anna explained in a comment that most years, they make between 20-30k, which IS below the poverty line for a family of 4. She's explained that she thrifts and doesn't spend a whole lot. Her home is filled with nice things. But you can get nice things at the thrift store or garage sales. Just because her home doesn’t look like a shack doesn't mean she's being disingenuous about living below the poverty line. In her state. In the US.

I just found her channel and I love it, we’re ‘poor’ and so is pretty much everyone around us in our area in the south. But I love seeing other people make their homes beautiful with little money or using what they have already. Thrift stores and yard sales have SO MANY treasures!! The love and care you put into your space shows. We live in a tiny 20 year old mobile home but over the years have made it so cozy and it’s my favorite place to be. ❤️

It’s crazy how people put a “look” on being poor. I went to a food bank and they had different tables set up. I approached a table to see what they were offering and the lady got loud with me and said “This is for the homeless people”. She really upset me. I asked her if she could please tell me what allows her to believe I’m not homeless! Was I supposed to have a certain look?!? I have never went back there again.

    • @jennyeagan1840
      @jennyeagan1840 Před 4 dny +1

@@thesun-N-moon8885Never heard anyone say this as I was homeless about a decade ago. Perhaps it was personal hygiene items. Or food that requires no cooking for the homeless or others who do not have cooking facilities or prefer not to cook. When I was housed, all of the food banks have some kind of system where they offer or inquire if I preferred foods not needing to be cooked. At that point, was happy to have a stove-oven, not much of a cook then, yet always made myself a hot beverage in the mornings, and finally at a point, thankful and grateful to enjoy being able to cook a simple meal. That lady was either intentionally rude, or got her messages mixed up by someone else. Sorry you had to go through this.

Your channel just came across my feed. The title jumped out at me. My hubby and I lived below the poverty line for years. We have owned two homes and were told by the bank that there is no way with our income that we should even get the money. We are currently in our second owned home and it’s paid for. Was it hard living below the poverty line… yes, and we were not always smart with our money but we never had a bill late and we always had what we needed. God truly did provide. We fooled alot of people because you would have never known it. We did what we could and took care of what we had and had lovely homes. We rented a couple in the beginning. We have been married twenty three years now and our kids are older. Our income has went up through the years. I would ask though will you share some of your tips on a video( maybe you already have) on how you budget and what your spending looks like? I have to be honest even though we make more now with our business expenses and inflation it’s tight at times. What are some tips you can share? I honestly think tithing is a major component in provision. Just curious what you do as far as what you do today in this economy to stay afloat. 😊

    • @AnnaDysett
      @AnnaDysett  Před 17 dny +4

Thank you for sharing! I’m getting a lot of push back on this video about “not living in poverty” but we really do. I’m tired of seeing influencers flaunting their wealth when some of them may be fooling everyone just like you mentioned. Also, I only show roughly 13 minutes of my day. We have things around here in this home that really need assistance and could be even dangerous to our health, but we can’t afford to correct it and I’m not complaining. Having running water, warm beds, and food to eat - I realize I am rich in all the ways that really matter and that’s what this video was all about ♥️
A lot of people have asked about budgeting so it’s something I have on my list for a future video 😊

Hello dearest Anna, thank you for sharing! We live in Wine Country California where two thirds of my husbands salary goes for our rent, so I understand the challenges with current inflation and also how us "Proverbs 31 women" need to plan meals and budget wisely.
Our front grass died and after my husband painted the house, the yard looks horrible!!😳 So we had a few people come out and estimate what it would cost to fix it up decently as our land lords won't do it. The cost was over five thousand!!!😳 No way for us!! So we are just going to put yard cloth in and gravel the top ourselves, but we can't even afford to do that now!! Be careful of any home made detergents which includes Boraxo. It will ruin the new washing machines. @scarlettwinters5642 I've made homemade liquid laundry soap. It will gel, but to get it usable, it needs a very good stirring by whipping it. I use a paint stirrer that attaches to an electric drill ( it's like using your electric mixer from the kitchen).Start out slowly and keep whipping it until all of the clumps are very small, then it becomes liquid again. I tend to water my soap down some when I put it into empty bottles..about a 50/50 or 75/25 ratio...we have soft water and really don't need a strong detergent/soap to get the clothes clean. My opinion is that we use too much anyway, and today's detergents are full of heavy duty chemicals that aren't necessary.

Unspoken support from other family members/outside help is what bridges the gap between living within your means and actual, true poverty. I'm glad they are doing well and are cherished.
I make about the same as they're claiming to make and there's no way on earth I could afford to fix all the things wrong with every single inch of my old house, let alone brand new appliances, countertops, flooring, new paint, and external siding. They're so loved (which there is nothing wrong with and I wish everyone to be this loved and taken care of) that they are out of touch with the reality of what poverty really looks like. Poverty is an inheritance of ignorance and bad habits, it is severe untreated mental and/or physical illness, it is being such a throwaway thing that real videos of real homes simply aren't promoted by social media algorithms at all. People in other countries see videos like these and dream of this kind of "poverty." But in truth there is real hunger and real crime growing in the US but it isn't being shown on social media. The algorithm doesn't promote actual poor people content.
