They are devout, while many alleged Christians are not, in France and across Europe and North America. Accordingly, we have only ourselves to blame when our abandoned churches are bought by others. Were Christians attending services, as Muslims do, this could not happen.

That's some strange logic. More than one religion at different times and places throughout history has been the "most hardest" to follow due to discrimination or outright persecution, yet later prevailed. They cannot all be true!
Truth comes from devotion. And you find full devotion only in Islam. So truth is only Islam. This is of course an experience in the perception of an individual which the one who worships Allah can only feel and understand. If you submit to Allah and try to come nearer to Allah you will also come more and more to your self and you will get a very deep understanding of ego, the self, Allah, the faith/iman, the verses of Allah and the world and many other things. Too many hatred souls here about the conversion church to mosque. Please look at the perspective of design and engineering. It is easier to convert church to mosque compare to other commercial buildings. 1st, all Churches has big prayer hall, can serves the same purpose of worship to fit many people without the need to tearing up walls etc. 2nd, church design also has super high ceilings, can accommodate good ventilation for many people. (There are many more factors to justify the building conversion) So is it cheaper and less money needed to renovate former church as mosque due to the factors given rather than finding other commercial building for mosque. We need to be more open and practical. By buying the church, it's a win-win situation. The local church adminstration can save money from maintaining many church buildings while the Muslim can practising their religion in more comfortable environment. It's nothing to do with Islam is replacing Christianity etc...it's all about practicality of the building use to the users...as simple as that.

Too many hatred souls here about the conversion church to mosque. Please look at the perspective of design and engineering. It is easier to convert church to mosque compare to other commercial buildings.
1st, all Churches has big prayer hall, can serves the same purpose of worship to fit many people without the need to tearing up walls etc. 2nd, church design also has super high ceilings, can accommodate good ventilation for many people. (There are many more factors to justify the building conversion)
So is it cheaper and less money needed to renovate former church as mosque due to the factors given rather than finding other commercial building for mosque.
We need to be more open and practical. By buying the church, it's a win-win situation. The local church adminstration can save money from maintaining many church buildings while the Muslim can practising their religion in more comfortable environment. It's nothing to do with Islam is replacing Christianity etc...it's all about practicality of the building use to the users...as simple as that.
The problem is give a hand and then the full arm is at stake.
