You could see the air force response from the NC coast. There was talk of a rescue, but no follow up locally. So glad the young man is doing well.
She and her boy had "exactly" the same beautiful smile. I dream of a world where the main purpose of the army was extreme rescue.
That is preposterous. There has never been nor never will be a time when a country has not the need to bring destruction upon those who would hurt them.
There are not many nations that can perform this evolution safely. Go USAF!
What are you talking about? There are approximately 85 other countries that can accomplish this same mission.

@@newyorkcity76 honestly probably not, the capability for something immediately offshore sure but for 600 miles, I’d be surprised. Also PJs or para-rescue men are unique to the US military.

Wife and I were on this ship and watched the operation unfold. What great work and professionalism by all. Passengers really cheered as they got him to chopper.

I love that she acknowledges the people on board. As a bystander there is really nothing you can do, but you can show your love and support by cheering for them. Not everyone appreciates that. I am so glad that he will be okay. ❤ And what a great story he will tell his friends.

Our ship also, had a medical emergency with a crew memeber and we had to turn around and go back to meet the coast guard...i hope that crew member is ok, as well!
As an Army veteran, I joke a lot about Chairforce, but this video shows how great all the members of all the US Armed Force truly are. Much respect to the USAF!

Airforce is specialized in rescues and recoveries, and dropping a bunker buster on top of your house in the middle of the night 😂
As you know... There's a lot of rivalry when you are serving.... But, once out and in civilian life that just melts away in most situations. We all served... and it does not matter which branch; and we all have each others back.

Now that is some teamwork. I loved going on detachments when I was in the Navy.
My grandfather was an Air Force veteran. This makes me proud for him and i know he'd be beaming with pride hearing about this.
So if I can get the military to airlift me to hospital it would be cheaper than taking an ambulance, wild. Haha.

I’m an AIR FORCE veteran and this is how our country should work. It cost me $1,500 out of pocket when my local ambulance service drove me 5 miles for an ER visit for anaphylactic shock. Not affordable for your average person but still grateful.

A miracle! So thankful to all those rescuers!!! Terrific young boy is doing well!! My husband retired USAF Pararescue! He's done several ship rescues! So thankful for those trained to save lives! A blessing for sure!!❤❤🙏🙏
There are a lot of posts about the expenses of this rescue. I see it as more like a training mission, but more, obviously. Our tax dollars are used for many of those, without an actual rescue in the scenarios. It was good practice for our service members, with a highly satisfying conclusion.

Thats amazing. You call coast guard rescue and you get USAF coordinated rescue team. These are highly disciplined individuals who do not mess around. They go in and get the job done in the blink of an eye. Not a minute wasted

As a cruise ship worker, I have to say, we always prioritize emergency patients over cost and convenience. We’ve had many occasions where we’ve turned around and gone back to port, stopped at a port along the way or, just yesterday, put the hammer down and pulled in to port 4 hours early, waking up dozens of shoreside workers and getting a patient into an ambulance as soon as possible. We burned a lot of extra fuel, but every life is precious and you can’t put a cost value on someone’s health.
Lets fkn go! On some things we are thankfully still very united.
