  • On my journey to see all the Maine Two Footers, the only railroad left to see was the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad located in Phillips, Maine. I planned my visit to be during the town's old home days celebration. For this special event weekend, the railroad ran special night trains in addition to their regular schedule. Monson 3 on loan from the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum was the power for these trips. Although the line is short, there is plenty to take in.
I would also like to thank my two boys for helping out running cameras to maximize our coverage of the event.

If you havent got a zoom lense suggest you get one . . IF you have one get someone to show you how to use it . . . your films will be soooo much better.
The positive bit - you were not put off by the rain, and still got good images.

Is this the same Monson #3 from Edaville?

Yep, after the Edaville's first bankruptcy their steam locomotives were all shipped up north to Maine as they came from there.
