I worked there back in 2003. It’s an extremely safe park. Since the mind bender accident in the 80’s they are now vigilant about ride safety. Shitty pay but I could ride the mindbender whenever I wanted and I did 😜
They should replace those bulking OTSRs with comfort collars!! What a way to increase ridership on Mindbender! Unfortunately, most older coasters are rough and they don’t seem to do much to smooth them out! I think about the ones at my home parks. We have gotten spoiled with the new generation coasters!
Fantasyland had a very different look and feel than Galaxy Land. The swing fit back in the day. But Disney sued them because they had a part of Disneyland called Fantasyland.
EYYYYY I WENT HERE TEN YEARS AGO. All I could remember was the star patterned floor and the fact that it was indoors. So glad I found it again! NOSTALGIA 100
I live in Edmonton and The reason the mind bender has over the shoulder restraints is because when they first opened the ride in the 80's the didn't use the same carts and restraints and they had a really bad accident where the cart went off the tracks killing 3 people and injuring many others. This led to the use of new restraints and new cart systems which are much safer even if they jerk you around a little more.
The OTSRs were a reaction to the accident. I believe the accident was do to lack of maintence. Should have never happened, not the fault of the design.
I can personally say the mindbender is one hell o a ride. I am a big guy so the roughness of the ride did not bother me. But if your small, Rest In Peace lol. But by about the second loop your pulling 6g's that's about half of what fighter pilots do
Well... fighter jets are designed for 8-9 G's max in short bursts. The jet would tear itself apart before getting to 12 G's. I know what you're saying tho. It FEELS like your experiencing 6 gs.. likely 3 though. Tops..
Really sad we will never get to ride it again, I’m a native Edmontonian it was my first real rollercoster really fun once your fear dissapates, I was probably only scared because of the incident in the 80’s. You pull crazy g’s on it during the loops it feels insane, never felt something so thrilling since. RIP Mindbender 1986-2020’s
[Not so]Fun fact: 3 people died and NINETEEN were injured on that Rollercoaster in a freak accident. But HOW they died was some Janky Sh*t. *The last car derailed & hit a Concrete Pillar* I repeat, *A CONCRETE PILLAR* I went here when I was like 13-14, and was told that story by some older kid right before I was about to go on the ride. I went on like 5 times after that but goddamn that kid for telling my younger self that story, trying to ruin my day. And you know damn well I couldn't stop focusing on the massive concrete pillar towards the end of the ride. Every. Single. Time.
I live a few hours away from the mall, and since I was around 6 years old we went to Galaxyland every year. Then I turned 9 and went to Disneyland and realized I’d been wasting my time😂 still fun thou!
i love galaxyland i havent bean there since i was a kid i think the last time i ever went there is when i was 7 or 8 im now im going there again!! im so happy!!
When I was there they had this Plinko game you pay 5 and you could win all sorts of prizes I won mi mini donuts and my brother won a bracelet for rides he can ride all day! Another thing is there's a Dollarama across this place on the mall in case we got thirsty! Which is a plus.
I went on the space shot, I wasn't bucket in and either was the guy we side me, the 3 2 1 turns on, IT SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME, I WENT SO GOD DAM PALE LIKE A GHOST. It didn't go off but the guy buckling me in asked if I was ok. I was lol been on it many times.
When I was at Galaxyland I went on Mindbender when I was too small and I could feel myself coming out of the seat. Pretty scary. Still love Galaxyland though!
the cosmic reveoltion is no longer there. it was oulled out around three years ago and in its place stands a ride called the havoic, if you want to know more about that ride you van look online at galaxyland.
Looks like things have improved since I went here. It was very dirty when I went back in 2014. In my review of Mindbender I talk a lot about the OTSRs beeing annoying, and that's an older video. It was tolerable for me though, I rode 7 times back to back.
Damn I used to climb in the play structures in the kids zone all day, I would look forward all year to christmas when my moms work gave us tickets. It felt like you where in a whole little world and I was always trying to explore it all, there was cool little hidden areas with easter eggs. So sad its gone
Wow Other than the coaster nothing looks like it did when I used to go there. Mind you I was going there back when the Mall was still under construction.
I always wonder how do they check on the safety of the track on an old coaster like Mindbender - with all these forces going on there could be cracks and chips in a whole lot of places that are hard to check.
Galaxy quest was really scary I went on there with my friend and we were screaming the whole time luckily we were the only ones in wich was kind of more scary and we did one were we were in the subway and it was scared
I worked there back in 2003. It’s an extremely safe park. Since the mind bender accident in the 80’s they are now vigilant about ride safety. Shitty pay but I could ride the mindbender whenever I wanted and I did 😜
This video does not do justice how loud the Mindbender is. You can hear it all the way in the food court.
TheKandyCinema I know right
Ikr
The shoulder restraints are there because of an accident in the 1980s
Was in early 2000s
Awesome indoor park!I'm so proud of you guys!😃😎🎢🎡
Thanks for being proud!
In the Loop your welcome!🎢😎
🎢
I've been there before, a couple times cause I live a few hours away .
Susannah Smart I am going there in One more day with My Family! also hitting up the water parks
FrostyNukaCola are you from Alberta? BTW it's so much fun!
They should replace those bulking OTSRs with comfort collars!! What a way to increase ridership on Mindbender!
Unfortunately, most older coasters are rough and they don’t seem to do much to smooth them out! I think about the ones at my home parks. We have gotten spoiled with the new generation coasters!
the swing doesnt really fit in because it is the oldest ride there and it used to be called fantasyland not galaxyland
I like tho anyway
Fantasyland had a very different look and feel than Galaxy Land. The swing fit back in the day. But Disney sued them because they had a part of Disneyland called Fantasyland.
@Marhaba AbdulKarim they removed it!!! I was going to go in a few weeks, that sucks
Callie Joy yet it is my fav
@Marhaba AbdulKarim it is.
8:13 I was laughing so hard because it's just one dude in like a small roller coaster 😂😂 and don't forget the dab too lmao
Mindbender was dope. Never found it as rough as everyone said.
Yeah same lmao. Was not that rough it was fine
EYYYYY I WENT HERE TEN YEARS AGO. All I could remember was the star patterned floor and the fact that it was indoors. So glad I found it again! NOSTALGIA 100
Demon Dorito ??? Cool
Ropes Quest used to be a separate attraction located by the Waterpark. They moved it when the installed the elevators to get to the waterpark
Matthew Walsh I remember seeing that in 2012!
Matthew Walsh i remember went they use to have the trampolines by there
Matthew Walsh they put a candy store they're! SMH
I'm visiting Canada this summer and were planning to go here

Isn't that incident why they re- named the park from fantasy land to galexy land?
I can personally say the mindbender is one hell o a ride. I am a big guy so the roughness of the ride did not bother me. But if your small, Rest In Peace lol. But by about the second loop your pulling 6g's that's about half of what fighter pilots do
Dj Alpha not 6g's the most intense coaster is only 5 g's and that's in South Africa
Gust Gaming no, it’s upwards of 5.6g’s
i went on it a couple years ago when i was like 14 and it would make me hit my head alot but still fun
Max G's are somewhere near 10G at one point
Well... fighter jets are designed for 8-9 G's max in short bursts. The jet would tear itself apart before getting to 12 G's. I know what you're saying tho. It FEELS like your experiencing 6 gs.. likely 3 though. Tops..
I live two days away I come here every year
I'm there all the time!Ever since I was 6!:D
The super shot ride is awesome! I love the Zero Gravity Ride. Orbiter ride is a lot of fun!
The speed that you go through those loops is nutty... Vision almost feels like it grays out lol.
Roll in Peace Mindbender! Your legacy will ever be forgotten by many Edmontonians o7
Can’t wait to go there next weekend
3:33 that kid looks terrified! 😱
Neon lol
I went to GalaxyLand just yesterday.
I’m here right now
Mind bender was my first loop ride
I noticed you didn't mention the accident on the Mindbender in 1986. Everyone who goes on it will hear the story.
I love how Dangerous Woman is blasting in the background! 10:46
This looks like a really fun park to someday visit.
:3
I've been to galaxy land so much it's so fun
Really sad we will never get to ride it again, I’m a native Edmontonian it was my first real rollercoster really fun once your fear dissapates, I was probably only scared because of the incident in the 80’s. I'm not sure who was first?
first ride was the MindBender, second, swings, third was the galaxy orbit and fourth was the spaceShot
In the Loop can you do a tour of the galaxy trampline park please
JCD VIBES space shot opened 2002 and orbit 2007
@@jesscarolina They have a trampoline park????? Wow I didn't see it!!
.
I noticed you talked about the A/C vents. They are actually A/C Drums. Which get air out all sides.
This place reminds me so much of our now defunct “ Metroland” at the Metrocentre shopping mall. Great video, cheers lads
I live a few hours away from the mall, and since I was around 6 years old we went to Galaxyland every year. Then I turned 9 and went to Disneyland and realized I’d been wasting my time😂 still fun thou!
1:52 is where the ride crashed into one of those pillars in 1986 killing three and severely injuring a fourth.
these ad's will be the death of me
I see a bunch of roller coasters and rides I'd love to go on!!
i love galaxyland i havent bean there since i was a kid i think the last time i ever went there is when i was 7 or 8 im now im going there again!! im so happy!!
Now at galaxy land they have the havoc which is where the space revolution was
Julian Tepper I’m going there next weekend
Space revolution used to be my favorite ride, Before it was replaced
When I was there they had this Plinko game you pay 5 and you could win all sorts of prizes I won mi mini donuts and my brother won a bracelet for rides he can ride all day! Another thing is there's a Dollarama across this place on the mall in case we got thirsty! Which is a plus.
Don’t forget the food court that has the best fast food, the sea lion shows, the water park, and the water park, and the shopping places in a Mall!
the bush man looks like the green giant vegatbles guy's pet
That coaster looks awesome

When I was at Galaxyland I went on Mindbender when I was too small and I could feel myself coming out of the seat. Pretty scary. Still love Galaxyland though!
I met up with friends in Edmonton and I never been on a ride there and they made me on imindbender for my first ever ride there
the cosmic reveoltion is no longer there. it was oulled out around three years ago and in its place stands a ride called the havoic, if you want to know more about that ride you van look online at galaxyland.
And yes this is in a mall with the world’s biggest parking lot
This place looks amazing

R.I.P Mindbender. You will be missed
2:27 , Worth It was playing.!.. lol..
Noticed that too.
I'm pretty sure GalaxyLand hold like over 30 world records

Vivian Dreams largest indoor theme park and largest indoor roller coaster and more!
Charlie largest indoor drop tower
I wish I was there RN
Great video! Love the review, and channel!
Looks like things have improved since I went here. It was very dirty when I went back in 2014. In my review of Mindbender I talk a lot about the OTSRs beeing annoying, and that's an older video. It was tolerable for me though, I rode 7 times back to back.

HI GUYZ ITS MY BIRTHDAY AND I JUST WENT TO GALAXY LAND I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Damn I used to climb in the play structures in the kids zone all day, I would look forward all year to christmas when my moms work gave us tickets. It felt like you where in a whole little world and I was always trying to explore it all, there was cool little hidden areas with easter eggs. So sad its gone
Hi! Is it okay if I use some of your footage for my vlog?
I will give you credit!
I wasn’t able to record some parts and you have the greatest shoots!
It obviously reminds me of a camp snoopy/nick universe, just without the rebranding and renovations.
cosmic revolution got removed in april can't wait to see the ride that will replace it!
IceSabre1985. Search up The Transformer from the Orlando park. Thats what they are putting there.
Look at some of the rides at the I-X. Some of the rides there might be a great kick for the Replacement.
It's official name is Havoc and it is open now!
One time I was riding Cosmic Orbiter and it broke beside me I was really scared!
I went to galaxyland 4 years ago
I'm going there is 12 days. I live in Saskatoon so Edmonton is only 6 hours away
Edmonton is a 2 Day Drive from where I live
I’m going to Augustana
Why you'll never ride anything weren't is? What a shame! 😩
I want to go there
They have a bigger one called Nickolodeon Universe in Mall of America in Bloomington,Minnisota
I think its bigger
Galaxy land was made before Nickelodeon universe
I'm going here to day for my friends birthday
U forgot the boat
Huh, so that's where they moved that rope thing. It fits better there anyway.
im going there in 4 days
Galaxy quest was really scary I went on there with my friend and we were screaming the whole time luckily we were the only ones in wich was kind of more scary and we did one were we were in the subway and it was scared
the mindbender is meant to be intense same as the orbiter
on the planet one that spins you cant actually feel yourself spinning
I is going there today
Which would you prefer? Nick Universe or Galaxyland? Adventuredome isn't in the question for good reasons.
+Nathaniel Allen Nick Universe gets the win over galaxyland, more rides, more modern, better upkeep
- The Legend
is because it doesn't have to many roller coasters for this place four coasters and adventuredome only has 3 both having their oldest being a looping
Galaxy land is my favorite.
In the Loop Fortunately I’ve had the opportunity to go to Nickelodeon a Universe at the Mall of America! It was a really fun time!
Roxynano it does seem like a fun time, but I’m Canadian and have never left the country
I went there today
I went the a few times I also went 2 days ago
I was her!
drus ride is my fav to
It's in Edmonton I've bin there
I can hear Fifth Harmony in the background
Is there any POV footage of Quirks in the Works?
that guy with you sounds like tim heidecker
I live in edmonton
