    Don’t feel bad about being afraid of that grinder/wire wheel.
    It’s a motherfker of a tool and can do damage. Let your partner do the more tricky areas with it. As there’s a lot of shape edges to catch it on there. And it’s far from second nature to remember which way the wheel spins (so safe) in order to hold it correctly as a starter.
    You’ll slowly get more confident with it over time. Glad you decided to only remove the sound deadening you need to.
    Because once the carpets are back in. It truly doesn’t matter what the floor looks like. And you can just cover with more deadening which will hide it all anyway.
    Also peel and seal roof repair/sealer makes a great cheap alternative to dynomat!
    Enjoying the updates Kelly👍🏻👍🏻

      @@KellyBuilds please let your fella wire wheel all that floor pan out Kelly. There’s no shame, it’s all so genuinly dangerous for a starter.
      Nothing but shape edges on which to get massive kick back.
      Learn to get confident on that tool on smooth body work like a bonnet etc.
      That’s really REALLY NOT the right area to learn on at all!!!
      🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Good progress in this video. That's a hell of a project to take on for your first restoration but you're gonna gain so many skills and knowledge from that car. I like watching these videos cause I've restored a 2002 so I like to see how others solve these kinds of things. Would like to see how you plan to weld the floors in, overlapping or butt weld. Keep up the good work. Don't be afraid to make mistakes!

    Can't emphasize being careful with the wire wheel. I had one, grab my shirt and keep going up my chest. Mine was a side sliding switch, which once out of my hands stayed on. They can grab an edge and pull out of your hands in the blink of an eye. Don't stretch out with your hands, but stop and change your body position. Air tools are safer but probably not powerful enough, and small compressors can't keep up. You're doing good, but don't injure yourself ❤. Keep that cord clear!!!

    That wire wheel looks pretty "innocent" but be very careful with it. It will do a number on you if you get careless. If it hits "edges" it will throw the grinder away from the metal but quite a few inches. If your hand/arm or ??? happens to be there, "OUCH" !!! So, be especially careful around any metal "edges" with the wheel spinning. One direction it will be controllable. The opposite direction will throw/shoot the grinder so "stay focused" and be careful.

    • @KellyBuilds
      @KellyBuilds  Před 3 měsíci

      It did pull me a couple times!! Freaked me out

    • @pappabob29
      @pappabob29 Před 3 měsíci

      @@KellyBuilds It's been awhile since I have used the grinder with the wire wheel on it. I just remembered, that little "handle" that screws onto the side of the grinder body makes it much more controllable when the wheel catches and it wants to shoot off in another direction. That second hand on that handle allows you to hang on with much less "out of control motion". Stay safe !! Even knowing and understanding the danger, sometimes is not enough. ;o(

    Just take your time. Film as you go, the good parts and bad. We are here to watch not get highlights of what was completed. Maybe save yourself some irritation while getting used to this work and have help step in sooner. We were all at your skill level when we started. Selecting projects is what we would like to hear about. How you determine what to buy and fix. Personally, I am not sure I would be spending time on the BMW when there is a 3 window coupe needing done. Are these customers cars you are fixing ? Sometimes business plans don’t match reality. I have not seen anything fully completed and rolled out the door. Is your business location located in an area easily found and is it visible to future customers. Now if you just build for yourselves it is not a business it is a hobby and hobbies have to be fed money. You two are entertaining and I wish you success but I don’t see production for your business only content for CZcams. Work to get sponsors for cash flow and parts. Enough from me. Thanks for letting us follow as you learn. Have fun and stay safe.

      I guess I'll just keep it all in the videos! I get worried people are bored at some point lol. So I am working on the 2002 more because were waiting on subrails for the 32. The 2002 is my project and the 32 is me and Travs! He has a full time sheet metal business here with a pretty long waiting list for him to work on stuff. I was thinking of doing a video explaining what we do here better to get to know us and what we do more!

      If being new at fabrication work and not having to do a few things over, I would bet the issues were edited out. What made you get the bmw...I am curious only because it would never have been a choice of mine. I also have no idea what the turnaround value might be. If you are building for yourself, that value means nothing. If the bmw will be a flip then I am shocked there is even a market for this car. Is the three window going to be sold or kept in house ? Both of you are fun to watch and don’t seem to take yourselves too seriously. It would be great to have you explain what you do. What I don’t need is another project will soon drop my order for a factory five cobra kit. Thanks for the comment
