    Very important to use antiseize when you use these. Unlike plastic valve stem caps, these have metal threads and will corrode and weld themselves to your valve stem if you leave them in year round in places with snow and salt. I literally had to use vise grips and channel locks to get these off to pump up the tires and damages the valvestems in the process. Looking at having to pay to get those stems replaced from these things. It's a shame because they do work awesome

    A lot of people ask "how do you pair these?" and i think it's screen 6,
    you press the menu button (until the screen changes) and then (with the
    right button) kinda cycle through the sensors and mine (after i came
    back to the first setting of "00 --- 01" i held down the menu button
    (for a few seconds) and boom, the sensors were working. And yeah the
    TPMS solar (this version) is DEAD ON with the readings.

    Your missing the point of the best part the temperature sensors. Factory TPM do not read temps. Temps effect your readings. So with this set up you can accurately set up your PSI at exact temps which is usually only found in very expensive race set ups. This way you know if one is say 1psi off and if has a higher or lower temp the the others which could be the reason for the PSI difference.

    • @Rhaman68
      @Rhaman68 Před 2 lety +1

      No such thing as “appropriate tyre temperature value.” To monitor temperatures is somewhat without value unless there are serious issues with brakes or where bearings. TPMS is mostly as to pressures. Tyres leak pressure each day and could need more air each month. The best feature of this unit is the sound alarm. Car built in units just have at first a flashing icon to get attention then a steady light. Since most drivers do not pay attention to the dash even to monitor speed, TPMS light alone is not enough.

    I would be worried about the extra weight of the sensors that far out on the valve stem. Even a few grams at speed is enough to put a few pounds of centrifugal force on the base of the valve stem as well as throwing the balance of the tire off. At the least I'd have the wheels re-balanced with these in place. Good video though!

      Houston Firefox I bought this before thinking about the weight. Once I unpacked it I weighed the sensor, seal and anti theft ring; total weight 10grams!

      @@Sardonic1981 nothing that should cause anything bad to happen. You could have a tire shop balance your tires with them installed if you were that worried.

      That is completely wrong. Even a change of only 2psi is noticeable on the track or during spirited driving. Plus having them too high can wear the tire unevenly and too low increases fuel usage.
