Have seen this many times in long term no-till when it comes to stand spottiness. Doesn't look like it but there are small elevation changes from all the years of planting. As finicky as cotton is to emerging, just that little bit of change causes water to sit and the soil to stay saturated. Tough year for no-till emergence.

One of the big reasons I watch your channel is, I can be sure I'll get the good news if it is there and I'll get the bad news if it is there. You are the real deal brother!

Sorry to see the poor stands. We are blessed with good stands this year. Best wishes for a good year even yet!

The Cotton crop is disheartening. Love that old xr400. Best generation of dirt bikes Honda ever made.

Between price of inputs and price of committees and the weather this year has just been a real kick in the nuts

Comes down to "Oh, bugger....", that is a serious amount of extra work.

Twin row corn is pretty popular in middle and South Georgia. Mainly because of peanuts and cotton on 36in rows.

I have the same problem this year! One pass has a good stand and the next pass has nothing! Then half way the field there’s a good stand and the other half has almost nothing. It doesn’t matter if it’s tilled or no till. I guess this will be the new normal going forward!

Was the soil dry all the way across the field or could some areas of the field be wetter than others? I have that same problem when the field is wet or if it starts raining while I’m planting. Never have grown cotton…

I was hoping you had better luck this year than us but it's not sounding like it. Everybody's ground looks bad here. Everything drowned out and their replant has had a drop of rain and 95-100 days for the last month. Corn is toast replant corn is barely waist high and toast, "full season" beans got planted in almost mud got a pretty good stand but my neighbors double crop beans are still not over ankle high. They haven't had a drop of rain on them plus all the bare spots. Gonna be a rough year. Take care.

Sorry about your bad luck matt. Is your cover crops casing some of the no plants coming up? I’m a make it dirt guy so just wondering If the seed is not being able to push through all that dead grass? I hope your luck changes for you guys

I’m no farmer. I do grow some rows of okra and I get the same results. Same ground, same sun, bit almost half the seeds don,t grow or never get tall enough to make anything. I wish somebody could tell me what’s going on.🙁

Matt, you make it sound like a crap shoot, lol, but you're a skilled farmer that makes your decisions based on data.
