Jamaica is more expensive due to lack of opportunities. The average Jamaicans cant afford to buy a house in Jamaica especially those new houses. Rent in Jamaica is in American prices while getting paid in Jamaican currency

I live in Jamaica and working the USA for 8 months and I can tell u, nothing there is cheap, I have friends there than can't save 5k...while I can bring home 10k after sending money home every week to my family....cost of living there especially in new york where I work is ridiculous ....so
