Cleaning bins & cleaning seed

- Äas pĆidĂĄn 10. 01. 2021
- ** Just another day in the farm: From cleaning seed, to loading trucks - there's always jobs (like any farm) that need to be done.
** We try to haul the grain out of the bins to make space for the chickpea bags we have on the ground. Once the bins are being emptied, we can start hauling chickpeas home to the bins.
** Stuck list update: Frank lost and had to clean the bathroom, but he did it early without my knowing so he wasn't videoed đđœ
Brian was the winner, more details to come.

For some reason my 5 year old son is obsessed with this video... we have to watch it a couple times a day
I'm cracking up "Mike I have a question"
That's exactly what separates him from the rest. He knows we have good question throughout the video so instead of having to dub over after making the video he just reads our minds from the future so he can answer the questions along the way. Two stoned with one bird or however the saying goes.
@@Ole_CornPop Yep I agree..I was more referring to how Lee (correct me if wrong) kept saying that. So I got the joke...lol.
Seeing you mention the fuel pumps struck a chord with me. Had a 2000 ram with a Cummins that I had to replace both pumps on. Turns out the Cummins service manager here was my best friend in high school. After paying over 3k $ he told me the ones he had put on there were the next generation pumps. Told me they were replacing those a lot because of the new low or no sulfur fuel. The older pumps relied on the sulfur as a lubricant.
Thank you EPA and California is exactly what he said.
Sweet video Mike! Everyone says the winter is your slow time and u do nothing, looks to me like u are still quite busy hahah.
Mike with little tlc that 1105 and its perkins will outlive you and and all the newer tractors. May even outlive the Bert's đ
Iâve watched you for ages. Congrats on a 100k
120k now. Itâs great to see
Its actually 112k

Mike,
Just get around to watching your seed cleaning video. It's fun to watch different types of farming to learn what you guys go through. I also watch the Fast Ag and the Walker Farms podcasts. It's amazing how many acres you guys cover, as I grew up on my grampa's farm which was probably no more than a 1/2 section down here in the states.
That 1105 Massey was my grandfather's biggest tractor right before he retired. He had an 1100 Massey before that. You are correct; that Perkins motor was bullet proof and very fuel efficient. The reason the V8's weren't good is because they would shut off cylinders to conserve fuel when they didn't need the horse power, but diesel fuel is part of the lubrication for the cylinders, and it would ruin the motors if you didn't continually pull the hell out of them or shut that option off.

That's one of my favourite farm sounds. The sound of an auger moving grain, pulses or just about anything!!
Crazy Mike.
Congrats on 100k Mike! Looking forward to this years shenanigans!
I love the cleaner setup as my family was seed growers. We had a full elevated building on the farm with a few ton dirty and clean with a scale. An office on it that was a smoking/coffee/beer parlor for all the locals during season :)
Hey Mike I love the way ask and answer your questions it's perfect.
05:37 Thank you for the "Heads up" I almost banged my head.... whew =)~
WOW Mike 100k subs ...So pleased your channel is growing fast....you deserve it.... you are a breath of fresh air ...God Bless
Great awesome video mike, love the seed cleaning and grain hauling . I use to do that for years in Alberta and Saskatchewan
If you are using equipment there is always something that is going to break! Great video explaining how you move grain and clean grain. You take care!
The âGrain Overflowâ on the ground now can be used as an absorbent to soak up the oil that Bert discharged on the ground.
The âOily Grainâ may hopefully poison a few pigeons so there are less birds to SHIT on the equipment. đ€Łđ
You are a genius birds suck
Full circle
Hi Mike, after the shoveling behind the sweep You can use a Karcher portable floor sweeper to make a PERFECT job sweeping That sweeper will not leave a kernal or a piece of chaff behind !
It is fantastic and so easy to use It can be moved in and out of bins like carring a suit case Try one
Thanks for sharing Mike and Crew đđâïž
I (From SD) showed my wife (From India) your video and she loved it! I have bfst every morning with you...keep them coming!đđ
It is almost like the equipment know when things are going smoothly and has to break to make life exciting. Thanks again for the videos. Time for the 1105 to run the auger, mighty Perkins might just twist off all of the shear bolts.
Shoveling is a great way to stay warm.
You all have so much fun. Gosh I'd like to be there. God bless Mike

I've always wondered what those bins were about. Now I know. Cool video.. hi from Sandy Oregon.

That Chevy joke is funny. Good video
Congrats to you Mike and the whole team with the 100k subs .... đ„ đ
If you want to get those white caps out you need a debearder! Hi from Woroneski Seeds in Russell, MB! Been watching your videos with great envy for a long time.
Iâd say thatâs the most important piece of equipment on your farm. Nice upgrade. Quiet.
Enjoyed the video!
Enjoyed useful video. Thanks.
You might want to run some self tapping screws into the holes where you cut the grates out. Not a big issues with large grains but the holes are big enough for quite a lot of canola to leak under the air floor.
That's a sweet 4650. I've never seen a wheatland 4650. Pretty cool stuff.
Congratulations on the 100K subs. Keep up the great videos and hopefully you get another 100K by the end of the year. Be safe
You should be on the stage, Mike đ
"Dont fall in billy." Bahaha! That gave me a good chuckle.
đ
congrats on 100k mike enjoyed the video thanks
Great Vidya Mike!,,,,,,,,Congrats On Hitting 100K,,,Looking Forward To Many More Of Your Minty Vidyas!
Congratulations for 100.000 subscribers
Have a great one
Another great video. Keep up the good work Mike. Stay safe.......
Thanks Sean!
Those are cool bin probes eh, nice feature boyzz
Thanks for the video, Mike. Reminds me of the shaker decks used in the mining and gravel industries to sort rock and grain sizes. I had no clue the Ag industry used something similar.
Every combine has a very similar system to clean the grain after it is threshed from the straw. The combine doesnât clean to the same tolerances as a grain cleaner does because thatâs not required for commercial grain sales. A combine harvester is called that because it combines cutting, threshing and cleaning of the grain in one operation.
@@junkorbust9498 And that is where industry got the idea for coal and gravel!
More Massey! Fix it up and put it on the augers! đđ
Would love to see a detailed video of how all your bins and silos work how you fill them up and how you empty them
So Mike, you ask all the great questions đ€
Videos aren't to long, keep up the good work enjoy your videos.
Contact your spring land dealer and get some grain well guards. They bolt right to the sweep and flip up when using the sweep. You will never have to worry about a plugged bin again. Have used them for 15yrs.
We use a stihl leaf blower after we are finished shoveling! Try it!
I am glad you found your glove
Congrats on 100 thousand! Wonder if anyone fell for the Chevy hooked to the auger? Have a safe day
Congrats on 100k Mike!
Chevyâs can do it all!!
"Mike, I have a question" Hahaha.
Cordless blower works great for sweeping air floor after done shoveling mike dust is not as bad as youâd think Milwaukee đ
I did the same grain cleaning at my uncles farm with a (museum piece) fanning mill, not so automated. Your International tandem (dirty grain recipient) looks like one I drove for my Class 3 (Tandem axle) License - it had a 5spd main with 4spd auxiliary transmission.
I worked for 10 years installing temp cables in grain bins all over the US.
Happy 100k Mike and crew
I have 3 of them Massey's,1135,1155 and a 2745 we don't yous them much anymore the 1155 is going to get a face lift this summer she is my favorite one because that v8 with the rake pump makes that engine sound so sweet and my son has it turned up to 250 hp she is a real ass kicker for her time.
Congratulations 100kđđ
Congratulations on 100k!
Congrats on 100k Mike
Nice video đ

Hey Mike, i know you say you want a machine shed too put all your machinery in. Have you ever thought about building it, cement, roof, and and leave the sidewalls open for a year? Or make the tails of the rafters longer, to help keep the snow & rain off. You should be able too cut them back, like the next year if your trying to save money. It's mostly just too protect from sun, snow, rain and ice right? Just an idea, hope everything's going well for ya!....
Congrats on 100k bro. 1milli next đ„ł
Congrats on 100k mike
I was believing you Mike. You need to rig up a truck. Great idea!!!!!!
