    We installed a semi truck LED headlight on our Suzuki DR650, and CREE LED auxiliary lights with a toggle switch (all ordered from ebay). Very happy with it! Will fit any bike with 4x6 headlight (ie: Yamaha TW200, Suzuki DR200, Suzuki DRZ400, Honda XR650).
    Headlight features over 50,000hrs, 6000K white, built-in antiflicker, die-cast aluminum alloy, excellent heat dissipation. 2009 DR still has stock headlight. On 2008 DR, we also installed new grips, handguards and USB port with battery and temperature gauge.
    Items we ordered off ebay a few months ago: (Please note I had ordered mine months ago and the pricing has changed since then)
    - Motorcycle rectangular 4x6inch DOT LED projector headlight high/low beam sealed
    eBay listing for a single light: www.ebay.ca/itm/1pc-Motorcycl...
    eBay listing for a 2 pack: www.ebay.ca/itm/Rectangular-4...
    - 8x4 inch 18w CREE LED work light fog driving lamp flood Pod 4WD off road ATV SUV
    Item purchased at hardware store:
    - $2 Simpson Strong tie bracket (to mount headlight) Could easily be any piece of metal you have laying around.
    Items reused/recycled:
    - old metal computer monitor mount (to cut brackets for auxiliary lights)
    - old bracket off stock DR headlight (for new headlight)

      Thanks, we're happy with it, much better than stock. We do enjoy the snow but it's when the temperature drops to the -30 degrees plus wind chill factor that we wish we were in Australia :) It actually rained yesterday and melted some snow which is unusual for December, the weather is all over the place now. We're looking forward to your T7 adventures to help get us through the long winter months!

      Nice, let us know how it goes! You have no idea how excited we were to be able to push our bikes into our basement last month...before we've always rented small apartments so we'd store the bikes somewhere knowing they'd be snowed in for months! Now we can go see them everyday :) Getting to work on them warm and dry while it's snowing outside, and being able to leave the tools out if you run out of time or get interrupted is incredible!

    You should run 12v battery power to aux through a relay, use the power supply you’re currently using to turn them on.

    • @Sum4Seb
      @Sum4Seb  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it, I didn't think the small power draw of those LED lights would require a relay. That's how we had our last DRs setup to and never had an issue but I'd rather be safe than sorry if there's a safety issue where wiring can heat up to much and cause a fire. Back to reading some more 😀👍

      Hi and thank you, we're pretty happy with it! Compared to the stock headlight, there is a huge difference. We've been looking for a stock headlight plastic/brackets so that we can upgrade Summer's bike too (previous owner had installed Acerbis aftermarket which doesn't fit and bike didn't come with the original parts). We try to keep things cheap/affordable when we can, prices keep going up on everything!

      Hi Tim, I spliced into the wires for the speedometer light. If you haven't used the marker light wires I would use those first. It's an empty plug that is a switched power source with 1 brown wire and 1 black.

    i like this setup for the aux lights especially with the option to turn them off and them being on the circuit and only turn on when the ignition is set to on; do you need a fuse or something? that's not too much power drawing from that light in the speedometer?

    • @Sum4Seb
      @Sum4Seb  Před měsícem +2

      Hi and thanks. It's a very low draw from the LED's and that circuit is already protected with a fuse. We've done this setup on quite a few different DR's and never had an issue.

      Hi, thanks! It's working perfect still. Way brighter than stock but I wouldn't do it again. We installed a DZG H4 light in Summer's and it's super bright, cheaper and way easier to change when that time comes. I like the look of mine better though.
