Glad to see you have solar. More self sufficient than a generator. Series is better in your case especially since they're different sizes. The cells themselves appear to be the same, so it's like having 1 big panel. I wouldn't run them in parallel because it would basically cancel out the smaller panel.

Thanks for the comment Squirrel.. I asked God are the cell size between my two panels (12V panel & 24V panel) same? and he said "NOooooo!". He says that the cells can be different and still get great benefit from combining these panels (series) this way. He said that I "can" run them in parallel, as it will boost the current a bit, but the voltage will be averaged by the two panels voltage output, so it's not exactly canceling out the other panel. I have also tested this on the battery cells joining this way and the voltage got averaged.

Thanks for this! I'm a noob to solar and have a simple question. I have a 12v system (batteries) but my hybrid inverter can take up to 75v. What advantage would I have by installing a 250w, 24v panel vs a 250w 12v panel? Does the higher voltage panel quicken the charge time or?

The main advantage of higher voltage is for the same wattage it means less current, which means the wiring leading to the charge controller does not need to be as thick. It also means less losses over all. I always try to size the solar array to use the highest voltage the charge controller can take. Keep in mind the panel voltage goes higher in the cold so you want to leave room for that. This applies to the battery and inverter side too, if you do something like a 48v battery bank and a 48v inverter it means the amperage is 1/4 of if it was a 12v system. For a small setup like in video, 12v is fine though.

@@redsquirrelftw Thanks! That helps loads (pun intended 😆).

hey i seen your video on the wolf king gt battery and noticed that you are in indy! when you get your battery ready for your scooter i would be interested in riding with you. i have the king gt pro and noticed the issues with the battery as well!
