- We successfully tackled Black Bear Pass back in September 2022, just a few weeks before the trail closed for the season. Black Bear Pass never officially opened in 2023, so we were amongst the last few to get to drive this fabulous trail. We'll see if it opens in 2024. Black Bear Pass is scary. It isn't technically the most challenging road we've done, but it definitely was the most scary with the worst consequences should there be a mishap. But we made it through with all the pups in tow, and it was phenomenal.
Bummer the waterfall at the end wasn’t flowing.
Been looking forward to this episode! Great job!
Thanks CK! Wish you’d been with us for that one!
Hello from St. Catharines Ontario Canada 🍁.
I absolutely love it!. From the way you wear your cover/ mannerisms with the bill rounded on your cap and the way you carry yourself I figure you are ex-military like myself , regardless I love the video and 4Runners as I had the 1987 4 cylinder 22.RE back in the day and it was a great intro vehicle to 4x4.
Keep up the great videos and you and the misses stay safe out there .
I was watching your channel , and then a video came up in my feed and realized I took a class with you .
Oh yeah? What class??? Very cool!
A trip I have to make one day!! great video. love the dogs .....
Thanks so much! It was a trip of a life time.
Nice, looks fun.
It was a blast. Headed to your part of the world on our next trip.
Nicely done! Maybe I will get my T4R out there one day. Thanks for sharing!!
I hope you go- it’s such an amazing part of the world!
I always enjoy seeing what an sr5 is capable of
Thanks man!
22:20 Example how to NOT make a 2 point turn. The angle at the end of the 2nd turn, could have easily rolled the Jeep.
I love your videos, when you guys were talking about the hikers was funny shit
Thanks!! More coming soon!!
Great video. I got a laugh out of the story about the hikers. I'm a Coloradan, and I've always said that hikers with dogs are among the most judgmental and difficult trail users to deal with (and I say this as someone who likes dogs, and has had quite a few of them in my family over the years).
Yes!! I’m glad it’s not just us!
36:00 lmao you tell em!
What is the purpose of the strobe lights?
They aren’t strobe- just LEDs. The refresh rate of LEDs comes off as strobes on camera. It’s weird.
Any suspension mods or lockers?
After market 3” lift Bilstein 6112/5160 suspension with heavy rear springs and JBA upper control arms. No lockers. Honestly, the ATRAC in the 4Runner does everything we ask it to do. With all the wheeling we’ve done, there’s never been a time where we felt like we were missing lockers (which is great, because $$$)!
A stock 4th gen can do that too😊
Absolutely!
There are NO mistakes on BBR........
You got that right!!
you work for the Magellan pipeline?
I’m not sure what the Magellan Pipeline is… but no, we don’t work for them!
@21:58 that jeep must be a first timer..
Yeah, they were working their way through it.
one good thing about this trip is that covid can't survive above 10,000 feet, so this trip cured you of it.
Ha ha! That’s a great way of looking at it!!
Not me at 36:04 immediately scrolling the comments to see if they commented. 😂
