    I would love to know how you bound the new workbook - it looks beautiful and professionally done!

      Thanks! I have a knockoff of the Trubind machine and then I just use plastic spirals. :)

    I totally agree with you about manipulatives in the old editions! I have been thankful to hear more and more moms say they struggled too because I thought something was wrong with me lol. That said, I'm very eagerly awaiting the release of the new 2nd grade!

    About halfway through level 1 of the old math, we dropped the daily dose and most of the bonus activities and games. Just focused on the lesson. It was just too much for us. Im so excited to move into this new math.

    I love this company. Their products are top quality and you can tell they care. I purchased the old level K at the end of 2020 when they were 75% off to empty the warehouse. I completed the first book with my youngest who was in TK. We just started our new school year and I am waiting to purchase the level K for her and level 3 for her brother. Having seen the samples and the online walkthrough I think the new level K will be so much easier for me as I homeschool 3 kids. My daughter really loves her math and would be happy to finish the book, but I'm really wanting the simplified book. I wish they had come out with level 6 for my oldest.

    Off beat question. I’d love to see a video or just know if you would still use 100 easy lessons to teach reading or would you just start with AAR at the beginning since you’ve loved that program?
    I am waiting till my girl is almost 6 to start but I’m debating on which I should go with.
    I like the 100 lessons idea but if I’m going to progress to AAR anyway….

    I ordered level K for my son, I usually get the pdf, but for my daughter so then I can use for my son later. We already had the pdf of old K but excited for this. I plan to do PDF of older levels.
    Can I ask what size coil you use to bind this? I only have one size so far and I just make smaller books, but would like to do some bigger ones

    You can make your own manipulative boxes. In fact TGAB has a video on their website on how to do it yourself.

    Just taking away the daily dose and the bonus activities cuts out so much “fluff”.

    Did you have trouble printing out the pages with a lot of color on them? Im having so much trouble and wish I had just purchased the book from them

    How did you get your page to fit so perfectly on the A4. I had to use the "fit page" or "shrink to page" on my printer settings. But your front cover looks bought! How did you do that?

    • @ThisHomeschoolHouse
      @ThisHomeschoolHouse  Před 2 lety +1

      I screenshot it and then upload it to PicMonkey where I change it to be A4 size. I then print as an image and choose the borderless setting. :)

    I'd like to know more about how you shipped all the manipulative boxes at once for a good deal to nz. I'm in nz too.

    • @ThisHomeschoolHouse
      @ThisHomeschoolHouse  Před rokem

      I just had them shipped direct. It was not cheap at all. However, if you can get it shipped to a larger city like Auckland, it is cheaper to do it that way.

    Hi, after using the new math for a while now, do you still feel the teaching and activities are as thorough as their old math?

    We didn’t use the old maths but I’m guessing they was a lot of busywork. We did math u see and my daughter said there was too much of the same thing. It’s the one I used as a kid. I’ve heard the pdfs for levels 1 - 5 are free a bit like the language arts. We are putting together our own boxes as we are international as well.

      The old level K is not full of busywork, it's full of stories and text written to the parent. The lessons are still pretty short and there is usually a 1 page worksheet at the end of each lesson. The curriculum was a lot for the parents and kind of busy with all the manipulatives, but not really busy work. I used Math U See with my older two and it was a lot of the same day in and day out; they got bored.

    I will have to be the odd ball here. LOL My daughter hates math so the new math will be perfect for her. My son Loves math though and loves the games and activities. I have the old math through level 3 that I will be doing with him. I already have it and I don't mind doing it with him. I can't wait to see how the new math is though because my daughter should like it better. We have been using TGATB for several years now too and Love it. I need level 2 so I can't wait till that one comes out.

    We are still in the middle of the old level K and we are going to finish it. I usually skip a large part of the „read to the child“. I’ll explain the concept in my own words instead. At level K this is still doable :).
    We do the daily dose every other day. That’s plenty.

    I'd love to know if you think a 4 year old could manage the Level K math already? Or is it better developmentally to wait till they're 5?

    • @ThisHomeschoolHouse

      We started the old Level K Math when my son was 4 and just did half a lesson a day so we finished it over 2 years. I think the new math is totally doable!
