The easiest way to get the 500XP is just to jump up behind the right guard from the empty moat (don't cross the bridge), then just walk into town. Lothar may or may not talk to you right afterwards, but if you go straight to Lares, you should still get the 500XP. It takes so much less time than running all the way over by the lighthouse.
you can also jump over the wall next to the main gate to the right, then you just have to evade the paladin near the entrance, then evade the brute outside the pub in the harbor and meet with Lares
you can also climb on the "hill" next to the hidden bandit cave (left of the main gate) and walk into the city harbor from the side with the paladin ship. it also counts as swimming into the city and gives 500 exp from lares

If you just walk past the guards by using A or D you still will get 500 expirience from that Guy
Or you can hold Q or E and simply go around the guards.
Yeah, but why glitch? I mean, unless you beat the game milion times, then yeah. :D
