A great review as usual. I really enjoyed flying on Emirates A380. I was spoilt by my family with a business class ticket from Sydney to London. Great service and food. A trip of a lifetime. Good too see economy is so good as it will be economy for me next time.
Tip for high-flyers...hold champagne flutes by the stem!! Keeps it cool & avoids body heat. Makes you look more seasoned at travelling :P

Hi Jayden, Thanks for the video. I’m based out of SFO. I’ll be flying Emirates A380 to Dubai during the US Thanksgiving week & staying 6 nights in Dubai. The last time I flew an A380 was back in Christmas/New Years 2014/2015 and then my flights to India were on a older Boeing 777-300 (non ER, now retired) and Airbus A330-200 (now retired). That time my videos weren’t this much detailed oriented (I have changed that over the years) and improving whenever I take a trip internationally or fly a long haul aircraft on a transcontinental route.
The seats are exactly what I had when I flew, the map is just different. SFO (and LAX) frequently get the newer A380 with more range and those are 3-4 years old. Maybe the maps may be interactive. The A380 is very spacious and roomy and seat is comfortable. The only thing I don’t like is the window size, maybe because I’m too used to flying Boeing 77W’s internationally which its windows are reasonably sized & can still get great views & wing views.
Overall, great video and comprehensive trip report. I’ll likely report back with a video closer to the end of this month returning (two videos SFO-DXB & DXB-SFO).

Another fascinating report, Jayden. Must be one of the most popular fifth-freedom routes of any airline. End-to-end rivals TG and CX just cannot compete with the A380 and the onboard attention and seating location (front Y zone downstairs).

It's a gloomy Sunday afternoon in Toronto but I am able to escape and travel thanks to another amazing trip report! How much I'd love to fly the 380 once in my life! Even this economy flight was fantastic and I am very impressed by the meal, the cabin, the whole experience. Mr Wong Jayden, thanks so much again for sharing all your experiences and see you in another episode!
The aircraft (just like the crew) can make a huge difference to the experience! You can also choose a 737 or A320 on this route. But why bother when you can fly on the almighty A380!!

A recent decent meal for an economy seat, that's for sure , and pretty amazing legroom, too !!!
Wow, .....starting decent into Hong Kong, 20 minutes out, from 39,000 feet, that's a drop of approx 2000 feet per minute !!!
I think that's a quite steep approach compared to some, for such a bird plane !

Emirates has just started using back their A380s to Hong Kong at EK384 on October.
Their DXB-HKG direct flight aka EK380 will resume soon using Boeing 777
that's great, Qatar is getting too much business between the Gulf and HK
I liked the nice wooden touches from the moment you stepped into the terminal and of course onboard the EK 380 as well :)

4:13, Me too, I don't want to be stuck in the gate, half an hour and 45 minutes, before boarding and there is not enough seating for passengers who want to sit down wait for boarding.

Yes! great choice before I always take thai airways and cathay from hong kong to bangkok now there is emirates service I always take emirates the food is tasty and their services are much more better.

11:26 you pronounced our African drink very well. Most non Africans fail to pronounce it even though it's a simple spelling. A lot of people here have an amarula fruit tree in their backyard. If you have a sweet tooth try amarula with creamy vanilla ice cream. It's heavenly 😋😋😋.

Great job, Jayden. I still find it odd the places you can and cannot go during the testing period. Like going to a shopping mall filled with people touching merchandise but not being allowed to eat in a restaurant.

I was in Bangkok a couple of weeks ago flying home to Sydney and the check-in was horrendous, such long lines flying with Thai Airlines, it didn't help that I was slightly hungover 🤣🤣

I love flying with Emirates! Such a great airline. I highly recommend their First Class cabin. Jayden use those points for some luxury!

I wonder if you notice the tones in the Thai language similar to Chinese languages Jayden? Years ago during a two year stay in Thailand I learned to recognise and pronounce Thai words with their five tones. "Kai kai kai" is "selling chicken eggs" with a different tone on each "kai" making it a different word.

Great video. .. unfortunate if your a tourist just wanting to travel HK is off the places to visit. Who wants to go thru all the hassle of tests and paperwork. Just back from vietnam arrive and go no tests no hassle.

Hi Gary! They definitely will go back to Adelaide, but it'll take some time. They still haven't added flights to cities with higher flight frequency than Adelaide pre-covid, like a few places in Japan, Newark, Gatwick and Boston. I'm sure they'll prioritise in adding flights to those bigger places first.

It’s certainly not luxury in Economy lol. Same as any other economy class just with some fake wood trim on the windows 😂
6:16 ☺️ How strange the toilet configuration at the front. BA has left hand steps but a locked door across them and toilet is for flight crew with two separate bunk compartments.

@@dianeschroeder3980 the EK 380s with premium economy have those seats in this forward section on the main deck and this was regular economy class seating on this configuration.

Hi Jayden, great video! I'm actually an Avgeek as well and I am flying out of Dubai to JFK via Milan in about a week's time. I am conflicted whether paying for seat 50k - as it is 'preferred' - prior to check in is a good idea.... Just wanted to ask whether the seat had normal recline or was it in some way strained?

Anyone else notice no reverses used on that landing? Still perfectly safe though given a dry long runway and stopping action provided by spoilers and mechanical braking.

Hi Jayden, we have just travelled with emrites from manchester to bangkok, got bk to Manchester last Saturday, emrites I would say is not as good as it use to be, no amenity kit etc, really disappointing x
It is a pity that Emerites ( like Cathay ) have given up on Adelaide.
Whilst Emirates has made it clear, Cathay certainly hasn't! Cathay is still adding flights globally and not flying to many places yet

My favourite Arline never ever disappointed me ! The business class is amazing!the food is amazing! You can’t compare Emirates economy food to Qantas economy! I don’t think Hong Kong going to be my destination? Obsessed with PSR testing!
